In Theaters April 12th, 2019!

(Note: This is the "greenband" version, I watched this trailer before posting it here just to be sure it was appropriate in order to avoid situations that could have happened.)

I like David Harbour in Stranger Things, but in that trailer I could tell he doesn't have near the presence that Ron Perlman had in that role. I'll hold off my judgement on Ian McShane vs John Hurt until I actually watch the film, there wasn't enough in the trailer to tell, and I find Ian McShane highly watchable even in crappy films-- but John Hurt was damn perfect in the role of Bruttenholm, so it'll be a tall task for McShane.

IMO, this could be good as (for example) The Amazing Spider-Man, the 2008 Incredible Hulk film (the one with Ed Norton as Bruce Banner), or be a disaster like the Fantastic 4 reboot film released three years ago.

Quite a bar you're raising when you're leveling it to the same level as those movies. Though I doubt that this Hellboy reboot will do any good at all.

I concur with you about this reboot not being a good movie. While the studio does want this Hellboy reboot do be different from the Hellboy films by Guillermo Del Toro, I will admit that my expectations (like anyone else's) for this reboot to be any good are actually low.

With them playing Mony Mony throughout this trailer and the cracking jokes the way they were, it feels almost like it's trying to cash in on the zeitgeist (for lack of a better word) that superhero movies like Guardians Of The Galaxy or Thor: Ragnarok displayed in their advertising and nothing at all like the dark, gritty version we were promised. Not fully invested.
