Did you watch the Jane Pauley Show on Friday October 1st? What are your impressions?

My critique:
I didn't learn anything I didn't know, and I certainly did not appreciate Asperger's Syndrome being called an 'illness'. However, my overall impression is cautiously positive, as I think the show might have raised awareness of AS among general public. While bad sides of the "disability" have been somewhat emphasised, the show conveyed a message that one can live a happy and fulfilling life with AS. This was accomplished by featuring a teenager and an adult (Dawn Prince-Hughes, PhD), in addition to two children. I find such a choice to be a good idea.

I set my VCR to tape it and will watch it sunday afternoon when I get back to oshkosh.

Then I'll say something here about it.

Well... I finally did get around to watching it, it wasn't anything I haven't heard before.

However I did find the idea of using dogs to help calm people with AS was rather interesting.
