Do you agree with the person who wrote this list?

Guillermo Del Toro has stated many times in many interviews he wants to do a remake of Slaughterhouse 5 with Charlie Kaufman writing the script, but hasn't heard anything from Charlie Kaufman.

("When someone is too busy to work with someone else?" :? )

Del Toro may very well get to make At The Mountains Of Madness, after all.

A Paul Verhoeven-helmed "Crusade" starring Aahnold would have been a joy forever.

But we'll have to settle for "Showgirls"

I would never watch Gladiator 2. Lion King 2 was bad enough. Gladiator can never be topped.

I also don't like thinking about the Crusades and hate the thought of it, though that's how my brother's obsession with history began and he thinks the whole thing was awesome from all sides and all angles. I'm also against historical fiction to begin with. Gladiator doesn't count because it's the story and the environment happens to be part of it. I mean depicting historical events.

I imagine a Gladiator sequel would last for the five minutes of Maximus' body being carried off the arena floor.

How so and if this is true, when will it go into production?

Question to all Lovecraft fans: If someone directed a biopic about the man himself (my preference would be GDT), who do you think would give a great performance as HP Lovecraft?

My suspicion is that Lovecraft would translate poorly to film for much the same reason that King does; the authors prose is lost in the transition.

IMO, if everything is put in good positions then maybe a Lovecraft adaptation may end up being good after all.

It would probably be whatsherface Lucilla (?) And everyone 'rebuilding' or focusing on carrying on the legacy ..to some degree. The boy encountering problems. Blahblahblah.
The boy would be the main character. But it wouldn't be called Gladiator ---unless the boy had REALLY bad luck. It would be something else..
Like 'Empire Strikes Back' 'Return of the Jedi'

In the same vein as the preceding film..a one or 2 word noun ..

I recall reading someplace or other that Del Toro was given the green light.
Don't know who could play Lovecraft, but it would be hard making him a sympathetic character these days, as his racism is now indefensible.

The idea of a restoration of the Republic in the movie was, by that date, nonexistent. Too many generations had passed since the Romans had lived in a Republic. By that time, people's only concern was that the emperor wasn't too crazy or despotic, like Commodus had been.

i am aware. hence 'to some degree'-attempts. it can play out on a personal level however..i'm writing as though i am a producer!
