Peter Jackson did what Jon Favreau couldn't

In 2005, Peter Jackson's recreation of King Kong was released to the public. Around 14 years later, Disney released an atrocious Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, that was part of their "everything old is new again" idea they got because Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp was popular I guess.

The problem with Jon Favreau is that his animals are unintentionally creepy. Creepy at its least, terrifying at its most. They have no emotion and it never feels like they're genuinely... alive. They feel more like animatronics. And not the lifelike animatronics like in Jurassic Park. I mean animatronics from low-income circus companies.

Peter Jackson's Kong has loads of emotions. You can tell when he's angry, when he's happy, when he's curious. I found his relationship with Naomi Watts's Ann adorable.

Simply put, The Lion King couldn't pull off what King Kong did over a decade before.

PS: Disney has a film titled Dinosaur, which was released in 2000, and just one of its characters has more emotion than all of Jon Favreau's Lion King characters put together.

What is your opinion on this?

I really can’t stomach Disney taking their animated classics and doing live action versions. Just goes to prove how bankrupt they have become, recycling their classic properties with live action.

Yeah, you're right. The only good recreations of films are King Kong (the 2005 one is better than the 1933 one) and Stephen King's IT (the 2017 one is better than the 1990 one).

Also modern Hollywood sucks. Just start binging movies from different countries.

Well even though I like King Kong a lot better than The Jungle Book, I actually felt that Favreau's remake was actually a good remake for once, compared to other ones, unless I am in the minority there?
