Is Ian Nelson (Cameron) in the Bratz movie really deaf, or was he playing deaf?

Just want to know.

If he is deaf in real life, it was great how the movie didn't trivialize that fact. Somehting you usually don't see in movies about teenagers.

This article basically sums my opinion on this movie.

OK, I didn't see it, but I had to endure the utterly disgusting trailer. Twice. "OK, let's break the cliques and just be ourselves...by emulating dolls that look like pornstars and following the latest fashion trends and all acting almost exactly alike!"

Forgive me if I'm being a troll.

I thought it was an excellent movie. It's a lot better than the previews make it out to be.
