Asian Dramas and Soap operas

Anyone interested in Dramas and Soap operas from the Continent of Asia? I like to watch dramas from South Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Pakistan, India, Singapore, Turkey, and the Philippines. I've been looking for Armenian soap operas with English subtitles, but haven't been able to find any with subs. I also know quite a few sites that stream those types of TV shows (with English subtitles of course), but I'm more interested what shows my fellow wrongplaneters like to watch from Asia. I also consider what people call the "middle east" to be west Asia because nobody from Turkey says the European side versus the Middle Eastern side lmao.

I tune in Asian programs from Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines; but only when they have English subtitles.

I find reading subtitles tedious interfering with enjoying the visual aspects of the TV show or movie.

Chan Wook-Park's "Vengeance Trilogy" are brilliant, well-made films worth watching
although there is content in each film that may make you uncomfortable.

Kung Fu Hustle is just a hilarious send-up of cliches associated with martial arts movies
and worthy of its status as a cult film.

Even if I've watched some for few or so years (times when I still bother to watch TV at all), because my mom and my sister are so into it.

And all I've seen with them watching are either subtitled in English and/or native, or are made/dubbed in my local region's native language...
No subscriptions. West and South asian shows are a rare treat, East asian dramas are very popular...



In recent years, they've been keeping up in various online streaming sites instead.
They strongly prefer dubbed in my native language.

Watching soap operas and dramas dubbed in English are... Funny if not jarring to be honest.
They'd rather have it in original and subtitled in English.

A lady friend is into India, and actually pays for an Indian cable channel. And sometimes we watch Indian soaps, and the occasional India musical variety show. Theyre kinda interesting.

My fav foreign language show was back in the Nineties. A late night talk/variety show called "La Morita" , on Univision hosted by Mexican actress Veronica Castro - much hotter to look at than Leno or Letterman.

It had a nice colorful look, and big variety of Latin American musical acts: Mexican cowboy music, Brazilian metal, Andes mountian Incan flute bands, etc. There was even a guy who stole Victor Borge's act. He would play classical piano, and then spout a line in Spanish, and get big laughs before resuming Rachminoff. Despite the fact that I could never understand a word anyone on the show ever spoke, or sang, I loved it.

I have a new website that I'm going to post subtitles in English with some of the shows that have no subs. I'm going to use an automatic subtitle generator and it's going to cost some money, but it'll be worth it! I'll personally watch the shows as well. Pooptube's subtitles stink, so hopefully, those will be better.
