Van Helsing is one of the best Vampire/Werewolf movies period. Is hollywood really that desperate?

I don't know if it was just my age, but I used to find the original movie so quotable. And I found the ball scene really iconic, where you see all the dancers stuff, and then a mirror showing them all missing.

Scraping "the bottom of the barrel" is what Hollywood has always been doing in order to look for original ideas with potential, so unfortunately yes Hollywood is being more desperate.
