The Lost Daughter
I watched this film on Netflix last night and although it was long and boring, I enjoyed the arty camera work and framing. I felt like it was a slog to get through, the people were all weird and had weird boring conversations or just stared at each other, but I can't stop thinking about it. I wouldn't recommend it because it's so dull, but if you have watched it, what do you think?
Its a film about a woman who really struggles with motherhood. I can understand, I have young family members under 5 who are whiney at times and I wish they had an off button, much as I love them and like to see them happy.
I think that autistic mothers might relate to this. The way it is filmed, everything is intense. The close ups, the sounds, the lighting. It's like watching sensory overload.
Again, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to autistic mothers who are struggling because it might be quite triggering.
