OMG! I am a Roswell freak! I remember before the show even started I was intrigued by the commercials for it...and when I saw the first show I decided it was the best show ever...I made sure I saw every episode after that, even when it moved to UPN. I felt like I could really relate to Max Evans especially. I also loved how the theme song was "Here With Me" by Dido. That was awesome. I own the soundtrack (and a few of the Roswell High books) and am eventually planning on getting the DVD's. I already have the first episode from the first season, a few episodes from the second season, and the final 4 episodes taped. I was so angry though when they cancelled the show...I signed petitions online and e-mailed the show...lol...I wish they would bring it back...those actors aren't really in that many things...well, Shiri Appleby had a movie on ABC Family and Jason Behr had small roles in The Grudge and a Kevin Spacey movie that I can't remember the name of. Brendan Fehr was in a few movies, too, but a while ago. I agree with you that the show is the closest to perfection...haha...I guess you can say the show is one of my obsessions...glad you brought it up.

I like all three seasons, but I think the third season was too far-fetched with Max coming back to life and all. If I had to choose, the first season would be my favorite.

I used to really like Roswell until midway through season two, when it lost all credibility for me, it's not that I minded the fact they killed off Alex, (though depending on some reports the actor either wanted to leave, wanted to make movies and have time off, but they couldn't come up with a way to explain his absense, or didn't want to leave at all), son't get me wrong, I hated it, but if they'd at least had a good and logical reason for his death, or if they even answer all the questions it raised.

For example,
-How on earth did Tess get strong enough to mind warp Alex not just for the length of time, but from the distance (she couldn't have taken frequent trips there, her absense would have been noticed, and if she'd mindwarped everyone not to notice her absense, everyone would have been finger tapping!) I would have understood it if they had of done a flashback to show what happened to her after she was Kidnapped by Rath and Lonnie. (more on this later)
-Was fake Leanna an enemy or mindwarped herself, if an enemy, why did she stay at the college after Liz and Maria found her, if she was mindwarped, why did she run when Liz and Maria found her.
-Why did the entire alien book only amount to one sentence, why not have information on how to make them the King, Queen, second in command, and princess they used to be, there no point being in command if you don't know how to command?.
-Why was such a fuss made about the Granolith only for it to turn in to being just a spaceship, if they wanted it for that perpose why not try to find the one that crashed. So it must have had more importance but it was never mention, which you would have thought that they would have been scared that it was now in Kivars hand?
-What happened to Tess in New York, we never see a flashback, nor do we hear about Rath, Lonnie, or Nikolas, I can accept her killing Rath and Lonnie, though for what reason, but Nikolas was Kivars right hand mand why kill him, it wouldn't help her deal with Kivar?
-For that matter, when did she find out about the deal, she didn't seem to know while Nascedo was alive, since she wasn't even aware of him killing, and I doubt at that point she was willing to hand over her former husband if not the others?.
-The deal doesn't even make sense, was Nascedo a good guy or bad guy, if he made a deal why did he warn them about the skins in the first place, why did he try to prevent them from using the orb that contacted the skins?

Just too many unanswered questions, and then through season 3 it was like the writers were sleppwalking, Isabel moved on from Alex death overnight, Michael and MAria were basically forgotten about then had a stupid break up story tacked on, that the writers admit was based on what was going on in their personal life, so it's not like they actually thought about it. Oy it could have been such a much better show than it became after Alex died I had such hopes for season three, I though we we're going to see Isabel cope with her grief, and guilt maybe that one of her own killled him, Maybe deal with the fact she betrayed them for Kivar in her last life, I would have liked to see her come out of her Max shadow more like she was starting to with Kyle, and maybe tell her parents (that was another thing, the Evans perants had a personality transplant in season three, I was sure that Mrs Evans suspected or KNew, the looks she gave Isabel when she said "magic doesn't help") I would have like to see Max deal with Tess's betrayel, maybe become Paranoid that Isabel might betray them. like she did in her last life, (and maybe find out that perhaps it was tess framing isabel) I wanted to see Max and Liz deal with the issues that seperated them (I don't believe that it was all Tess, they both have trust and control issues) I would have liked to have seen Kyle deal with the fact the he ineffect covered up Alex's murder and helped move the body, brainwashed or not, it was still bound to have an effect. I would have liked to see Maria deal with the natural abandonment issues that comes with your father leaving you, then your boyfriend slepping with you then leaving for another planet, even if he did come back, and I would have liked to see Michael struggle with the fact his last chance to leave is gone, even if he chose to leave, and his HUman/Alien issues. did any of that happen, no, not even one! I would have settled for one!

As for character, I didn't like Max and LIz much, I actually liked Tess more, my favourite we're the rest. I thought the actress who played Isabel got Jipped, her storyline was basically turning into a housewife. (Not that theres anything wrong with that, but it doesn't make for a good storyline)
