Okay,

So, a particular user (I won't mention their username for the purposes of anonymity) sent me a private message, then disabled the receipt of their messages when I tried to reply.

I am unsure as to whether:

a) They are purposely trying to direct my behaviour, anticipating I will post my response on the forum (if they have observed my behaviour, perhaps they have anticipated I will do this).

or

b) They are trolling me and are laughing that I cannot reply to a rare private message I have received or

c) They have anxiety and are being genuine.

I have no idea, honestly.

Anyway, here is the message I responded to in bold:

"Hi,

First of all - thank you for your interest in my person! Despite my seemingly outgoing nature on this forum, I rarely get any interest from people in terms of them wanting to see anything of mine, really. Or at least, they don't usually declare that openly.

I think I probably alienate people because I like to show the opposite side of a debate & people think I am set in some kind of polarised debate, as they often are (I am not).

The reality is that I like to root for the underdog, in any situation. So I end up often pushing unpopular opinions (especially those unpopular opinions that I feel have some merit).

I do not have Youtube channel as I have explained elsewhere in the forum, for many reasons - mostly for ethical & political reasons, but for some other reasons, too.

I'll try to do some more personal videos at some point, probably by the end of March this year (I live with my parents so it is awkward making videos without much privacy...).

I didn't know you could turn off PM's, good to know.

A lot of buffering on your cigarette machine video, but watchable and interesting!

Seriously though, that's likely to affect the channel's longer term viability if they don't sort it out. Many people aren't going to put up with a situation where a 30 minute video is interrupted every thirty seconds or so in this way.
