You'll have to clarify...happy endings could mean a number of things.

What most people would call a happy ending - main character gets the girl, world is saved, everyone lives happily ever after etc.

Lol yeah, it was a joke...think of something else called a "happy ending".

The real world is full of too many unhappy endings as it is. Why would I want to feel even more depressed by seeing yet another huge downer ending?

Only if it makes sense. If it's a reshooting in response to a test audience survey, I'll probably not like it.

I don't like bleak, sad, or tragic endings. Bittersweet endings are more realistic, even when presented at the end of an unrealistic story - like the Harry Potter series.

Sappy-happy Disney quality endings? BLECH! :eew:

No, I find them to be sappy and melodramatic.

Most of the people like happy endings... and I can say that I'm one of them

Yes, I'm quite fond of an intense orgasm after a vigorous massage.

I watch fictional television and films, and read fictional stories to escape reality. It wouldn't be much of an escape without a happy ending. A really stupid or unrealistic happy ending would just irritate me, however. But if I want to be sad or depressed, all I have to do is think about how much my life sucks, or go read the news. If that was what I was looking for, there are more than enough sad and depressing endings in real life to keep me entertained for as long as I live.

I like an ending that feels RIGHT (all caps for emphasis, not yelling), one that makes me think or gives me strong feelings and was clearly written with the story in mind and not how well it can sell. I don't mind a happy ending, as long as it works. I just hate when a film has a really great concept and they spoil it by hamfistedly jamming a happy ending at the end of a story that would be better without one. I especially dislike the standard, Hollywood definition of what a happy ending is. There are lots of other endings that can be happy other than a couple getting back together after some misunderstanding. And I reeeaaaally hate the big "running through someplace to catch the person I said the wrong thing to before they go on a trip" type of happy ending and all offshoots of it. :P

Yes. The happy part at the end is always my favourite part of any movie.
