I saw a movie called Rhinoceros the other day with Gene Wilder. I think it's based on a play. That was really weird but I liked it. I like weird.

In fact some of my favourite movies would probably be considered weird.

I love Synechdoche, New York which is a Charlie Kaufman movie about an artist who is given a 'genius' grant to do basically whatever he wants. It goes dark places, time gets all bendy and he ends up recreating New York.

Another favourite is Gerry, the Gus van Sandt movie where basically nothing happens. A couple of guys get lost in the desert and that's about it. But a weird thing happens in that small events become really narrative important. There's a bit where one of them climbs a rock to get a better view and can't get down again for a while. It's nothing, but it's like an action sequence relative to the rest of the movie.

Also Gummo which is a super low budget film by Harmony Korine about a US town that was hit by a tornado in the 70s and never recovered. Its like Peanuts in that there are very few adults around and the kids just do what they want. It's pretty awful but I really like the camera work, the mixing of media (there's video, 8mm, 16mm film) and the non narrative structure.

A lot of the movies in our collection are weird. But really weird? How about:
▪ Attack of the Killer Donuts [2016]
▪ Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! [1978] and its franchise
▪ Delicatessen [1991]
▪ Killer Klowns from Outer Space [1988]
▪ Monty Python and the Holy Grail [1975] have you watched it lately?
▪ Over-sexed Rugsucker from Mars [1989] it's probably not what you'd expect
▪ RoboGeisha [2009]
▪ The Terror of Tiny Town [1938]

And possibly the second weirdest movie in our collection:

And I think this might be the weirdest:

That's so weird, almost this exact thing actually happened to me when I was a kid.

One of my all time favs!

I'm also into a lot of Italian horror movies. Some great ones like The Beyond and Suspiria, and some very bizarre and "so bad they're good" like Hell of the Living Dead and Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror.

It was my favorite mode of transportation.
