I used to love Big Brother when it was on (especially when they had the 24 hour feed), the earlier BB's were much better and there was classic TV moments (Alison Hammond breaking the table, Alex hiding behind the door, Jade Goody, Nadia having a fight with Jason 'fight night BB5' and the feed getting cut and security getting involved) .

Love Island was not for me.

Presumably you know that Big Brother returns to our (uk) screens tomorrow night !?

I should have added that BB5 had the first and only transgender winner of Big Brother UK - Nadia Almada - result.

Now reminiscing about 2004. I was running a successful online business. Playing the s**t out of Burnout 2 then 3 online crash junctions. BB5. Life was good back then.

I have never liked either of them. Though I would rank Love Island as worse than Big Brother.

I didn't like BB at first and every new series seemed rubbish but after a while it sucks me in.

Like Recidivist, I found the early seasons of UK Big Brother were good watching.

I understand the reboot is a back to basics approach so I'm looking forward to it.

Never really got into any other 'reality' shows. From what I've seen it seems like producers don't understand that just watching people interact is interesting (maybe only to me?) so they manufacture situations and create conflict. It always rings false to me and I can't suspend disbelief.

I used to like big brother when it was on channel 4 but there's no way I would watch it now it's gone to it. I have a feeling it will be too much about the presenters and I don't really like itv presenters. Also I've never watched love island. It just doesn't appeal to me.

^ I watched the launch show last night. Presenters weren't too bad, if a little early 2000s E4. Mainly they just got on with getting housemates in and watching them.

I think these shows and The Bachelor make a mockery out of the process of finding love

They are the WORST shows on TV and I think they should be cancelled!! !

I completely agree! I don’t understand how anything close to love could possibly happen on any of those shows. I did watch the first season of BB in Australia, but had had enough by the end of the show.

No, they don't hold any appeal to me.

Not a fan of watching them for entertainment, but I do enjoy analysing them and how they work. The only show of this type that I watch for both fun and analysis is Strictly Come Dancing, where celebrities learn to dance with professional partners.
