Quite frankly, they all frighten me. But if I had to choose, I suppose I would go with Kermit because he is probably the least frightening to me.

I have to be honest... the muppets scared me when I was a kid. I thought the romance between piggy and kermit was disgusting.

But, rizzo the rat was ok. Bunsen and Beaker too were tolerable.

Bunsen was the one that scared me. He has no eyes. 8O

Preferred Muppet Show (seemed more grown-up) to Sesame Street (full of boring kids).

Never liked Big Bird (dislike voice & unappealing childishness) nor Fozzie (awful vaudville-type jokes). Oscar scared me, bc. he was so unrelievedly mean. Animal frightened me at first, but he grew on me. Liked the silent muppet (with hat & shades) who played sax-Zoots ? Blue ? I don't recall his name.

Adored Dr. Honeydew & Beaker (meep !). Liked Scooter-he was only one who made rational, simple sense to me. Kermit was sweet, but I preferred his nephew/cousin Robin better-he was so cute. Had love/hate relationship with aspects of Miss Piggy, appreciated her courage & daring but loathed her controlling behavior.

Liked Lew Zealand (his voice), the wacky guy who threw "flying fish"-preferred him over Gonzo, for weirdness. Stadler & Waldorf (the old men in audience/theater box) scared me for awhile, too-but I grew to like them. Bert & Ernie were okay, both were also annoying & irritating in their various extreme traits. Grover was so-so, I felt bad for his disasters. Cookie Monster scared me-plus he was eating cookies-which I wanted to do, but wasn't allowed ! Swedish Chef scared me at first, too-bc. I couldn't understand his speech, and bc. of his human hands. Nowadays, I like how his dialect sounds-took many years for me to adjust.

It's funny-my grandmother called them "moppets" & said she found them ugly & creepy-yet I liked them, and the rest of my family did too.

Big bird, Grover, Telly, and Bert.. (I loved the movie "Follow that bird!")
I liked Big Bird's silly friendliness, Telly's insecurity, Grover's natural awkwardness, and Bert's comical over-seriousness.

(Side note: My dad showed me a tape of Israeli Sesame Street! If you've never heard Bert and Ernie argue with each other in Hebrew, you've really missed something! :D)
