I can only recommend three.

1. Elvis & James (1989) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0466776/

A very funny musical comedy. You can see the full movie here:

2. Silip (1985) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0292236

Possibly the sexiest movie ever made.

3. Expensive Candy (2022) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21968374

A cautionary tale about a virginal young man who falls in love with a prostitute.

I can't recall the name of it, but it's out of print (1985) and is about the Spanish Inquisition in The Philippines immediately after colonization.

Ah, yes. Our Last Man in the Philippines

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5698568/

Technically a Spanish movie.

Or, maybe you're thinking of something else?

No, this movie was set almost immediately after Spanish Colonization, like 1500s when the Spaniards brought Catholicism and The Inquisition.

Bayan Ko is an excellent movie--same director as the above--about a labor strike: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086943/

I just watched For Y'ur Height Only: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0200642/

If you're a fan of the "so bad its good" genre, then this is for you.

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0911067/bio ... _ov_bio_sm

Quote:

The 1981 Manila International Film Festival was designed by First Lady Imelda Marcos as an elaborate showcase of Filipino culture. To everyone's horror, the only film that sold to the world was a midget spy film - a miniature mockery of Western pop iconography, and a joyously naïve celebration of Filipino Goon Cinema - called For Y'ur Height Only. Its star, a two-foot nine primordial dwarf named Weng Weng, became the most famous Filipino celebrity of his generation both inside the Philippines and abroad...

From some of the IMDB comments, the movie has risen to cult status.

You may watch the whole thing here:

Supercock (1975) -- I just watched it, and recommend against it. But, you can watch it on YouTube

I guess in the 1970s, the Philippines was known for being a place to shoot extremely low budget (and low quality) movies.

This is an anthology horror movie. I only recommend the first part which lasts about 42 minutes.

It's about a snake woman (naga or nagini) in a mall. Plot is good enough, main high light is the visuals. I like monster women stuff like this.

Cola, Candy, Chocolate -- a rather corny German movie, set in the Philippines. You can watch with approximate English subtitles here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frhWC3u6gRo

If you like corny slapstick, with a bit of T&A here and there, then this may be the movie for you.

I recommend any movie with Fernando Poe, jr., and/or Vilma Santos in a starring role.
