3 quest-e-ons!

First, who is going to see the movie when it comes out?

Second, which Aspie do you identify more with (if you have seen the trailer)? Josh Hartnett's perfectionistic bumbling, nervous wreck, or the more freelance-like Rahda Mitchell?

No intent to try make either good or bad, or better or worse, btw.

Third, is Josh Hartnett's depiction realistic? I couldn't help but think that he's gone too far towards Rainman...

Of course, it's early days and we've only seen a couple minutes in the trailer, but what are your thoughts, so far?

I will.

The former.

It's hard to say, as there was not much to see in the trailer. Jerry Newport seems to be pleased with the representation of himself, from his comments on this forum and in his interview with Alex, though. (Correct me if I'm wrong, please, Mr. Newport).

1- I will. And if I see the trailer for it in another movie theater, I'm going to stand up, scream "yeah," and get myself kicked out. Or I think I might, anyway.

2- I'm a mix, because while I'm perfectionistic, I'm also "LOVE!!" embarassing people in public with my weirdness. ((I could SO do the escalator thing.))

3- Dunno. I do know someone else with AS who makes me seem neurotypical, so there's a broad range, remember. I'd need to see the movie to pass judgement on that one.

?1. I'm going to see it when it comes out.

?2. I could identify with both of them.

?3. I'll have to agree that there's a big gap between people on the spectrum. Like some may seem like an NT while others seem as nervous as Josh acts in the movie.

Maybe I ought to answer my own questions...

1. I will if I can. Hopefully, they will release it in Australia.

2. I identify more with Rahda's character. I know that I will embarrass myself, so I might as well do it with charisma (or what I think is charisma, anyway).

3. Dunno.... that's why I asked...

I very much am looking forward to seeing the movie.

I relate more to anyone who tends to be nervous or a perfectionist, at least in certain aspects of life.

My level of day-to-day functioning varies tremendously from day to day or depending on the circumstances. Some days, I can't stand even the slightest changes and start having a nervous breakdown, while other days, I act almost as neurotypical as my mother, although the former is much more common than the latter.

I think it comes out around September or October. I haven't seen a release date, but I've read one of those months.

If anyone knows the release date, let us know! :)
