i think i nearly died of boredom when i went to see the phantom of the opera (the film- i don't know what the stage show is like). i was suprised because the trailer of the film looked really interesting. unfortunately, i couldn't escape because i was with my mother and it was meant to be a treat for her (she loved the film).

other than that, anything with eddie murphy or steve martin is pretty pointless too.

The dumbest movie that I have ever seen would have to be Jingle All The Way. It had a rather stupid plot of father doesn't show up for boy's karate show tihng, boy then begs him for a Turboman doll, man discovers mass hilarity having to do with Turboman at toy store, Turboman takes over man's life, boy begs man more, eventually man ends up getting dressed up as Turboman and being in a parade. Stupid. (The kids in my general music class last year voted for this, so that is how I ended up watching it.)

The second-most stupid movie would have to be Home Alone 3 (again winning a general-music voting last year). I do not overly well remember the plot of it, but I do remember that it had to do with putting some secret thing inside a radio-controlled car or something, a boy ending up with it, and the boy using it to drive around a video camera to look for a burglar. Lousy, and both of these movies were enjoyed by those kids.

I typically do not watch stupid shows, but I saw commercials for MTV2 a while back. The commercial advertised "Stankervision", "Damage Control", and "The Andy Milonakis Show" and showed people running(?) on swimming pools, pulling down underwear slightly to put a "d**n" sticker on it (It did not actually say "d**n", but I think you would know what I mean.), and smashing car windows. What a waste of film!

Most sequels are pathetically done, especially if the first movie is good. The only real exceptions to this rule are the movies/TV shows that are entirely scripted before the first one comes out, like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.

Dumbest show...Hmm...whatever the current Power Rangers is right now. Anyone dumb enough to watch it is probably no older than 5. Oh, and Veggie Tales.

Dumbest movie...Hmm...that's a tough one... any car movie...Fast and the Furious...I've never seen it, and I never well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates that show. I never saw even a spark of humor in that show.

The only episode I liked was where they had that race and the headless guy won.But that was also the same episode where some guy pushed a carebear in the fire!

-Pocahantas

-Trading Places

-Enterprise ('cos it murdered the Star Trek franchise)

-Uncle Buck

-Home Alone (ALL of the movies)

-Muppets from Space

-Jerk@ss

-Mouse Trap

-102 Dalmations

Is this thread about movies and TV programmes that are bad or just dumb? Because I've always quite liked Beavis and Butthead.

Three of the worst films I've ever seen were either Oscar winners or contenders: Forrest Gump, American Beauty and Lost In Translation.

I am quite conservative, but Forrest Gump gives right-wingers a bad name! It's so reactionary the way it presents Forrest's girlfriend - an anti-Vietnam-War protestor - as a drug-taking screw-up, then at the end tries to explain away her erroneous ways with the revelation that she'd been abused as a child. And it's soooo long, boring and pointless. When Forrest finished running across America, only for him to turn round and run back the other way, I wanted to scream!

At the other end of the spectrum is American Beauty, which seems to imply that Hollywood's view of middle America is that they're mostly a load of repressed suburbanites living lives of quiet misery. Now Hollywood is full of drug-taking screw-ups, let's face it.
And the contrived plot twists were just ridiculous too.

I found Lost In Translation to be a load of self-absorbed crap. Apparently it's fairly autobiographical on the part of Sofia Coppola. Nice imagery and music though.

The dumbest British film I've seen recently was Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Dumbest Movie? Well, I was gonna say "The Bats" but I saw a movie recently called "The Slugs" and it won hands down for the worst ever film (and dumbest script).

Dumbest program/show? Well, anything on TV nowadays has a fair chance of winning this category. Big Brother, Model Behaviour, Friends (even though I have been unfortunate to watch it several times). This is too easy.
