So I know there are some anime fans. Some of you must go to these things right?

I happen to be doing Otakon in Baltimore right now. It's entertaining to be at. I don't cosplay or anything, just shop and enjoy the panels/workshops.

I was at Otakon with my sister and hernd friend and it rocked. Saw the AAA Concert. Saw Seki and his voice acting of the whole God Finger (Erupting Burning Finger in U.S.) speech. I learned to become a samurai in one hour and saw my sister dressed as a Jedi beheaded someone in Seppuka. Bought six things that I like. I had fun the whole I was there. Also new and better dubbed s going to happened for Season Three of One Piece. :)

I head to Anime North every year now; This year I'm heading to CNAnime as well, though more so for the gaming con than the anime part. Anyone else heading to CNAnime/Fanexpo? Could be fun to meet up.

I probably should have went to that instead of the kendo demo but oh well. I really need to pay attention to the guest list for next year since I missed that and also the FF Tatics/XII music composer. :(

His panel was on Friday.

I've never been to an anime convention before. One time I did go to a small gathering of anime fans a store at the mall was hosting, but I got extremely nervous and left ASAP.

I love anime but I've never been to a convention. Do they sell manga at conventions?

Yes and plenty of it.

I've never been either. I'm going to SakuraCon this spring.

Well that goes to show how much I was really paying attention to the guest list. I knew he was there, but I thought it was saturday.

whiteskunk, you should instead ask yourself "What will I NOT find at the convention?"

Oregon is the nothing capital for anime conventions.
If I get a chance, I'd go to the one held in Lancaster, CA.

SakuraCon looks like it'll be big enough for most stuff. They had around 10000 attendees last year and that can be expected to be more the next year. By comparison, Otakon usually gets to around 20000+ and that packs the convention center.
Hope you have fun Gwen. :)

Oh, thank you!

If you looked it up, you probably noticed that SakuraCon is in Seattle. (Not Oregon, whiteskunk! :P )

I haven't even decided what I'm going to cosplay yet, but I'm determined! There are a number of possibilities.

I hope that any other anime/gaming fan WP members in the area will consider joining us that weekend. My aspie sister and her aspie/HFA fiance will be coming, as well as a bunch of other weirdos. It should be fun! This year they attended AX (Anime Expo) in Long Beach, CA and they said that they didn't like it as well as SakuraCon--too big and not enough special events going on. I was incredibly surprised to hear that.

I would go to Seattle but my last trip there, I slipped in some mud at the train station. Got caught in a sudden rain burst walking to the hotel. Then missed the stop because bus driver didn't inform me. I can look back at it and laugh. But at the time. . .

That train station sure used to stink. Literally. It has been remodeled. I don't think that takes care of the puddles though.... yeah, you better not risk it.

I used to get lost on the bus frequently when I lived in the Seattle suburbs. Nobody who knew me understood how someone smart could get lost on the bus all the time. I don't quite understand it myself, but I have a bit of a sense for adventure, so I don't mind getting lost when someone else is doing the driving.

I felt like I was in a remake of "The Out of Towners"

I'll see when the convention will be held and decide from there.
