Has anyone heard about this movie? It's a musical set in the 60's where all the songs they sing are from The Beatles. I was just wondering what people thought of this idea.

I saw Oprah last Friday, and that show was all about "Across the Universe". It looks like it has the potential to be interesting -- and I like musicals, when they're done well. This could be a great movie -- if people would relax and enjoy it. But like most things, people will probably pick it to shreds and think they're too "cool" to enjoy it.

I really want to see this but it's in limited release & won't open here in Portland for a while.
It sounds interesting with its high concept but I'll see it for what it is!

Heh...I've heard it's a disaster...I kinda wanna see it...I'll definitely rent the DVD. The trailer had some good visuals and it sounds really cheesy in a funny way. :P

You know if it's for you if you like the idea of them naming the characters Jude, Lucy, Maxwell, etc. (Unfortunately, "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" apparently isn't a song in the film, and he doesn't kill anyone with it. DARN! But it does briefly appear.)
