This is an Australian show on SBS that'll be on till the end of February in a full summer run. Does anybody else watch this? I think it's excellent programming and pretty much the only decent show on at the moment. All these American programs are getting on my nerves. This is like my relief. Although the dynamic between Father Bob and John Safran is milked to its fullest degree, I find it compulsive viewing. Pretty much for those who haven't seen the show, it's just the two of them talking about news and other interesting and mundane things with a religious bent. My friend says he doesn't like it because 'that's all it is' but I think that's what makes it great. They have segments like "Matchmaker" to hook together single minority religion worshippers with other inter-faith singles and "Father Bob's Billboard" where you can email in the sign for out the front of Father Bob's church. The rest of the show is interviews with 'experts', so far they've had on a euthanasia advocate, an Indigo child, a UFO abduction therapist, an ex-Al Jazerra terrorist and heaps more fascinating people. It's brilliant.

turn your TV upside down. That normally does the trick.

In britain we get all the rejected Australian shows like Neighbours and Home and Away.

I've never watched Speaking In Tongues, but I liked John Safran's other shows: John Safran's Music Jamboree and John Safran vs. God.

Well if you liked Safran vs God, this right up your alley. I don't normally 'force' shows on other people, but this is well worth a viewing. It's on for another 8 weeks or so I think. SBS 9 pm Monday nights. Father Bob was in an episode of Safran vs God actually where Safran was an altarboy.

Was Father Bob the man he confessed to stealing his remote batteries and masturbating in his bed?

Yes indeed he was.

WOOHOO!

At the end of tonight's show, John Safran mentioned that he was looking at an Asperger's site on the net and said that he read **someone's** comments about Father Bob potentially having Asperger's Syndrome. That's amazing! He asked for people to email him professional who can potentially assess Father Bob's condition, be it AS or not.

Anybody know any good AS experts down in Melbourne. If so, I'll email them on.

Just another bit of evidence that this show is amazing and that somebody reads the stuff I write on the net. There may be another person who wrote it elsewhere, but still, I'm excited. I hope they do a full Asperger's segment next week.
