I was reading in Entertainment Weekly today and for the new season of America's Next Top Model there is supposed to be a girl with Asperger's.


Hmmmmm, I wonder if she will win?????

'Let the countdown to the catwalk begin.

The competition once again gets fierce among the newly announced lucky 13 contestants on the ninth cycle of "America's Next Top Model."

Although a quick overview of the contestants implies a scary homogeneity -- a majority are students, and the age ranges from 18-21 -- we're certain that their individual talents will shine through.

Take, for instance, Janet, who we expect to have flawless skin for her beauty shots since she's an aesthetician. And then there's Lisa, who promises all sorts of fun because she's a dancer. What kind of dancer? An exotic dancer? A ballroom dancer? A tiny dancer? We just don't know.

The full list of contestants is included below. As usual, they will have to compete in various challenges and photo shoots to prove their ability to be a future supermodel. The winner will be managed by Elite Model Management, receive a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl and appear on the cover and a six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.

"Top Model" will premiere on The CW on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET, just before the debut of "Gossip Girl."

I don't know any details, but I will watch it, I always do. Guilty pleasure! I just hope they do not portray her (whoever she is!) in a negative way. I do however have a hard time buying the "reality" of the show

I like watching them in the "marathon" programming, because you can see the change and growth ( and the non growth, too) It is one of my guilty pleasures, along with Top Chef and gawd help me, Rock of Love and The Pick Up Artist ( that teaches me how I off base I have been in all my life with men, who knew I had been hit on by the best, but it blew right by me at the time!)

I love that show! The girls are always so shallow, though. Maybe a girl with AS would be a good thing. I'd try out, but I'm just too short. I'll have to just keep getting fashion tips from the show and try to look nicer and more appealing.

Really? This is absolutely awesome. I have always watched ANTM. I think these kinds of shows are a bit a step above from Survivor and Big Brother since they are actually competing for a job and the challenges tests their skills needed for the actual job.

But I think it will be really interesting for an someone with AS on the show. One thing is I wonder how they will interact or not interact and just not get into all the drama mess NT girls seem to thrive in. Another thing is I wonder to what extent she is aware of her facial expressions, her skill at pretending emotions and having a presence and character which seems to be needed to continue in the competition.

But if she has been selected from thousands fo girls she has got to have some skill. So I am really intrigued and will most definately watch the premier.

now if we could only get Dr. Phil to see the light that AS is not something to hide people away in the attic about, we might be on to something!

That qoute from EW is funny. Apparently the show doesn't get enough viewers watching just the models anymore, now they have to make it an environmental experiment as well. I wonder how that will affect the challenges. Having a girl with AS in a house that has to be environmentally concious could help regulate the divas, maybe. I'll definitely watch now. Good thing Who Wants to be a Superhero? is over, I try to only watch one reality show at a time, otherwise I start acting like a real weirdo, emulating both sets of "cool" people.

yes, I am curious too to see how the girls will relate to each other, in the past I have to fast forward past a lot of the stupid "she said, she did, she thinks.....etc." It seems so fake to me that I can't watch that part. I like the makeovers and the challenges! My favorite episodes are always the one where they all get their hair done!

I love the hair episodes, somebody always cries about their hair. Hair always grows back, no matter how short it is. Also, there's always extensions and a supermodel could afford them. They are just silly sometimes. I guess that's why it is popular, it is rather entertaining.
