Cool.

Sometimes I like to pretend that I am a humanoid Cylon. I've said this to people IRL before and they just laugh.

Same here. I haven't watched the third one yet because I can only watch them from the DVDs that I get from Netflix.

Yeah, I got all the dvds of it. I can't watch them on regular TV either. They aren't shown here.

I did however (yesterday) get the original movie. And am looking forward to seeing that on Tuesday. I was thinking about getting the original series also, because I have heard good things about it.

I have all the released region 4 dvds. Razor hasn't been released here yet, but I have it on my computer. I'll get it when it comes out.

The series is pure awesome. Though I didn't like the third season as much due to its decreased emphasis on the main story. I like how the series continues on from episode to episode instead of having each episode stand alone, like most other TV series. It does make it impenetrable to anyone who hasn't seen it from the beginning, but it makes the series a lot more involving.

My initial contact with this series was from an illegal torrent. After seeing the series in low quality DivX format I bought all the dvds. It's a pity this series isn't shown on television here.

Which one?

The fantastic originals or the

(IMHO) Crap remakes. :)

Hint: the (IMHO) crap original only lasted for 17 episodes, and the craptacular spinoff made, IIRC, eight or so.

While the (IMNSDHO) vastly superior re-imagining will, in a few months, begin airing its fourth season...

Didn't like the original when it started as I though it was a "poor man's Star Wars".

Watched the whole thing start to finish on DVD a few years ago and realized how good it was.

Less than a year later I tried to watch the new series but didn't make it through the pilot episode.

MAYBE if they'd done an extension instead of a reboot (like they did with Dr Who) and had the kids of the original Starbuck/Apollo, it would have been better.

For people in Australia with HDTVs, Channel 10 is broadcasting Battlestar Galactica IN HD at 8:30pm tomorrow night! Awesome! Except it's season three, so anyone who hasn't seen the first two is going to be sooo lost.

Well you're lucky; I haven't seen the third season and as far as I know the DVDs for it still haven't come out yet.

I like both series. The original was a bit "campy", it had heart. :)

The new series is serious, and deals with day to day life. :)

I will be sad to see it go, for this is the final season.

The DVDs are out. A 'complete' box set was released a couple weeks ago, which includes the miniseries, seasons 1, 2 and 3. The cheapest I have seen it is at JB Hi-Fi for $89.

Gee...shoulda held fire until I got to this thread...;)

BSG (original) was a 'poor man's Star Wars'...;) Star Wars was between episodes, and this 'filled the gap'. Star Trek was a memory. Dark times, me boyos and girlos..;)

BSG (new one) I lost track of. First 2 seasons weren't bad, but the (very thinly) allegory of the first episode of the 3rd season to Iraq and insurgents tended to annoy me greatly (I strongly dislike not-so-subtle messages in films...I agree with Goldwyn - "If you want to send a message, call Western union"...;)

haven't had TV for about 3 months, so I'd be lost about now. But I think it was a lot more 'grown up' than the original...;)
