Batman Begins is my favorite Batman movie and in my opinion was much better than The Dark Knight as Begins was more darker and felt more like a Batman movie, the movie also gave a new start for a new Batman franchise after the sh**fest known as Batman And Robin killed the original franchise, I loved the end scene of Batman begins when James Gordon presented a Joker card to Batman which meant the return of the Joker.

Batman Begins is not the best film in the world nor was i blown away or that impressed by it but like you said its WAY more watchable than TDK.

There is indeed something enticing about Begins which makes me tune into the film whenever its on TV. But overall i am still not that crazy about begins. To me it a good film and I would personally i would give it a 7 out of 10.

In my opinion, Nolan's Batman films are my favorite Batman films by far, Cillian Murphy was a good Scarecrow, Liam Neeson was a good Ra's Al Ghul, Heath Ledger was a good Joker and Aaron Eckhart was a good Two Face.

I liked Dark Knight better because the steaks were so much more personal. Begins is too epic (saving the city etc..).

I think Batman is more suited to smaller, more personal plots...

I'd love to see the plot of the original Dirty Harry adapted to Batman.

Batman is a man. His most powerful, moving stories are small human ones...

I actually saw The Dark Knight before I saw Batman Begins. I can appreciate Batman Begins for its detailed introduction of the Bruce Wayne/Batman character, but I didn't really like it all that much compared to The Dark Knight. I found it too confusing because of the way the plot keeps jumping back in forth chronologically. I find that Christian Bale is pretty good as Bruce Wayne, but he totally sucks at Batman. It's so cheesy- all he does is growl in a deep voice, there's just nothing really interesting about Batman in those movies. Also, Katie Holmes is a totally useless actress, so I'm glad they got Maggie Gyllenhaal to play Rachel in The Dark Knight. I know I'm probably not the 1st person to have this opinion, but I am totally amazed at Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight. He did a fantastic job, and I'm so sad that he died.

P.S. I can't wait till The Dark Knight Rises comes out! It probably won't be as good as The Dark Knight though.

One thing for sure, The Dark Knight Rises will not be as bad as the Sh**fest Batman And Robin.

I prefer Katie Holmes to Maggie Gyllenhaal. It was a fairly straightforward role anyway; Christian Bale's love interest; not exactly Academy Award material, virtually any young actress in her late twenties/early thirties could have played it.

can i point out that there is a big gap in years between TDK and the Dark Knight Rises..........Batman Begins came out in 2005 and TDK in 2008 and that is only a 3 year difference. With TDKR and TDK its a 4 year difference so they have had plenty of time to plan the film so who knows it could be better than TDK.

Yeah, I don't get the Katie hate...

She's a sweet little brunette with a VERY nice rack. That's all the part really requires.

She filled the role, and her c-cups nicely.

To each their own, but Batman Forever 8 out of 10? Someone has been on the wacky baccy... But seriously, lay off your obsessed hatred for TDK, unless your jealous of it's 7 academy award nominations and Forever got zero nominations

Here is my list.

Batman Begins 10/10
The Dark Knight 10/10
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm 9/10 (Yeah it's not part of the original franchise, but it's still great)
Batman Returns 8/10
Batman 89 8/10 (Childhood favourite)
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker 7/10 (Purely for Mark Hamill's Joker voice)
Batman Forever 4/10
Batman and Robin 0/10

I agree with Laconvivencia, the Christopher Nolan films are my favourite interpretation of the character, Burton's entries being second. Begins had more of a convincing storyline and firmly belongs in my top 5 all-time favourite film list, but Katie Holmes just felt out of place and didn't really impress me. Still, her chemistry with Bale is refreshingly free of Peter Parker/Mary Jayne style whining. Cillian Murphy is excellent as the Scarecrow, as is Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul.

Don't get me wrong, i love The Dark Knight. But it's more of a "WHAM BAM THANK YOU M'AM" kind of film with a complicated plot which, by my standards, is easy to follow if you pay attention. Still, Heath Ledger has enormous fun as the Joker, he's a motherf***ing force of nature. Aaron Eckhart's descent into a vengeful and a proper Two-Face is 10 times better than Tommy Lee Jones's hammy bubble-gum make-up plastered panto villian. But what really pisses me off is Bale's voice, yeah it's deep and annoying, but it's the whole intimidation factor that Kilmer, Keaton and Clooney lacked.

Jamesy, i am in no way insulting Batman Forever again. I just prefer the dark, gritty side of the character,

I love CBs one-liners in TDK when he's fighting the Joker.

Joker (to Rachel): "There's a little fight in you... I like that!"

Batman: "Then you're gonna love me!"

Joker: "You know how I got those bruises?"

Batman: "No, but I know how you got these!"
