i never watch tv by choice. whenever i am in a room where someone else is watching tv, i always think about how ridiculous tv is. you sit on a couch and watch some people on a screen live ordinary lives or play sports. i don't know about you, but i find that most of the people on tv are less interesting people than myself, and sports are just plain boring. football for example, some dudes run around chasing a ball. whatever. who cares? and then there's ads. ads are just annoying. they show up and are all intrusive and just get all up in your grill and use some subtle bullcrap to try to get people to spend money. first of all, ads are interuptions, and i hate interuptions, second of all, i don't have any money, and if i did, i wouldn't spend it just because i saw an ad.

this paragraph is very unorganized and terrible, so i will go no further with this useless rant...

That pretty much sums up my feelings about t.v.

I do like informative programs.
I have to admit to liking some of the fictional stuff too like MONK (my daughter really likes it so we rent it on dvd).

I have lived without a television for many years of my life, and when I have owned one (just recently got one) it has been solely for watching rented or owned movies.

I will never have cable or satellite television... I just can't see paying all that money for something I will hardly ever use.
My daughter has grown up without television in the house also... she's a very good reader! :D

I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one. People often look at me like I have two heads when I tell them I can't stand TV. For mostly the same reasons.

I don't watch much tv. I have 1 show I watch every week. So 1 hour/week of tv for me.

It's all such rubbish on tv.

I spend my spare time reading, dancing, going to Taekwondo, hanging with friends or hanging out on WrongPlanet.

You obviously haven't seen the right TV programs then. The lives of the characters from the TV series I've enjoyed are far from ordinary.

It's true that most TV does suck, but there are a few gems out there. You just won't find them by channel surfing or watching what other people watch, because most people just watch the mundane stuff: sitcoms, dramas, reality TV and sports. The best way to find good shows is to read about them online, and then download them or buy the DVDs. You don't have to put up with what the networks try to shovel down your throat.

While I do enjoy a few tv shows, the more I think about how much time I spend staring at a screen, the more time I think i've wasted.
While the things I watch on tv aren't exactly useless...actually, they are quite informative...I do believe that I could spend that time doing something else that will get me somewhere in life. To name 1 thing...looking for a job!

Ads, like most people, I think they are annoying and "in-your-face" as well.
