I know that the video quality is supposed to be superb in this version, but are the added extra scenes that are included any good?

Is this version of the film worth buying/watching or not?

Would you recommend it over The Director's Cut?

dunno...only seen the director's cut...it was ok, but it did tend to make the thing drag out, while also sending the story in a direction the original movie didn't go...but I don't want to spoil it for you...

While it's better than the director's cut due the improved video quality, but I saw the director's cut a few months before seeing the final cut and I honestly didn't see any real difference between the two cuts apart from that.

Then again I'm not a rabid fan and there are supposed to be changes.

I wouldn't recommend giving it a blind buy. If you already have the director's cut then rent the final cut first, unless you find that the packaging for the ultimate edition is in itself worth the purchase. XD

I'd definitely notice the changes. I've watched the directors cut at least 5 times.

if you love blade runner, you'd love the final cut, the digital restoration makes the effects really shine, and there are a few minor tweaks as far as scenes go, but nothing plot altering. it is the definitive version of the film. i bought the 5 disc set and it was worth every penny twice over. even if video quality was the only thing thats been changed, that would be reason enough to at least see it, every frame of this movie is like a beautiful painting.

but this is coming from the mouth of a 'rabid' blade runner fan

I love, love, love that movie. So, my opinion may be just a little biased. I agree with ZeroCrates.
