I have just finished watching Fido, a made in Canada zombie movie staring Billy Connolly and Carrie-Anne Moss, and actually liked it, has anyone seen it and what other zombie movies do you like?

I haven't seen that one, but I like zombie movies! They are my favorite type of movie, actually. Traditionally, my favorite has been Evil Dead II, but lately I've been thinking fondly of Return of the Living Dead.

Out of all the zombie movies I've seen (all two of them), I'd have to say my favorite is Shawn Of The Dead.

Absolutely, the original Dawn of the Dead.

Did anybody else share my discomfort with I am Legend? Seemed to me the pacing wasn't right.

I like the zombies in Prince of Darkness. There are quite a few, and wonderfully awful, especially the black man with the broken neck laughing in the corridor, and crying in front of the mirror.

PS. "28 Days Later" is not a zombie movie, they are living people, infected by a kind of rabies, who die natural deaths from starvation.

My number one is Delamorte Delamore AKA Cemetery Man, though it's not the clear-cut definition of a zombie film. It's really grand--tons and tons of hilarious bits of dialogue, some Evil Dead II-like comedy, obscure philosophy...it's never boring, always strange, and fascinating. Just a brilliant film.

I also would have to say I loved "Shaun of the Dead." Besides being very funny, I found that it was also way scarier than the average zombie film, in part BECAUSE of its humor. You laugh with and at these characters, thinking that this is going to be a comedy, and then they're getting killed in uber-bloody ways and suddenly it's not so funny. The third act is intense as f**k, if you're not the sort of person who laughs at gore, anyway.

Evil Dead II's also gotta be on the list, naturally.

Fido was pretty grand but it didn't hold up the second time in my opinion.

Both Dawn of the Dead films are pretty good, but in different ways. The original's got a dry, dreary charm to it, and an intelligence that the remake lacks. But the remake is just fun to look at, with great cinematography, especially in the beginning (with the car driving around the chaotic neighborhood and what not). I also loved how it used Richard Cheese's cover of Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness."

'Shaun of the Dead' because they are SO clueless for the first half of the movie!! !

'Franken-Weenie' by Tim Burton. You can see it complete as an extra on the 'Nightmare Before Christmas' DVD.

Michael Jackson's 'Thriller.'

Return Of The Living Dead. It's worth it for the 80's punk soundtrack alone, with tracks by The Cramps, 45 Grave, The Jet Black Berries, and The Flesheaters.

28 Days Later
I am Legend

Neither of them have "real" zombies, but they're zombie movies in spirit, except without the cheese.

I also love this zombie "movie":
