I'm going to rent the DVD. I've heard both good and bad things about it, but I watched the first seven minutes online (WATCH HERE), and found them pretty entertaining. I'm not that into the look of the film but it makes me feel like a silly little kid again, and that's a fun feeling to have. XD

Probably not. The graphics look amazing, but it looks like more of a guys' movie.

I am mixed. I don't really have a desire to see this movie, yet it would not bother me if I went and saw it. If some of my friends go and invite me, I'll go.

Never saw Matrix 3.

Newspapers everywhere say Speed Racer
could be one of the biggest bombs ever,
since it opened to a $20 million weekend.

If you are an epileptic, Speed Racer
may not be the movie for you.

I don't think I'll see it in film, but maybe rent it someday.

I remember when the television show first came on American t.v.

I always thought they were singing, "Ghosty Racer! Ghosty Racer! Ghosty Racer Go!"

Can't remember how long it was until I learned the name of the show was Speed Racer and the words to the song were, "Go Speed Racer! Go Speed Racer! Go Speed Racer Go!"

I might just wait for the DVD. I remember the series from when I was kid and thought it was pretty cool believe it or not. I however, am skeptical when the film makers try to turn a cartoon into live action and in fact, when they try to bring any old TV series to the big screen. Alot of that has been done lately and it seems like they've run out of ideas.

I used to watch the cartoon in the afternoons when I was a kid after getting home from school and enjoyed it. However, my abusive older brother strongly objected to it and tried to keep me from watching it. Fortunately, my parents said it was OK for me to watch it, even though he picked arguements with them about my TV viewing habits(with Speed Racer being the worst show I liked to watch). They never sided with him thank goodness, and it stopped, along with his physical and mental abuse, when I was around 7 and he left home for college.

I also watched it when it was rerun on MTV in the early 1990s. As a grown adult in my 20s, I still couldn't figure out what it was my brother objected to about it and why he thought I shouldn't be watching it. I concluded pretty much the same thing I concluded then, my brother is an arrogant abusive jerk.

I'm mixed about the movie.

I wanted to go but now that it's been a couple of days, I'll have to wait until' it's on DVD. Reason being is 'cause I don't enjoy going to a movie with me, one of my older sisters, and maybe a couple of people in the theater...it just feels empty...

Anyways, I think they should of focused on more of a classical Speed Racer type of movie. As in the race tracks aren't like some F-Zero race or something but I think they did that because they want to make it more lively and more colorful or something.

I remember watching the anime when it was on Cartoon Network, I might of been around 2 too 4 when it was on or something.

Edit: I'm watching the begginning of the movie on Yahoo.com. It's not the full movie but I'll go check it out.

Edit 2: Ok, I watched the begginign of the movie and I have to say its pretty cool. I noticed that the BG music was simular to the anime, and the tracks actully look pretty cool. I might rent this when it comes out on DVD.

I was amused by the warning INSIDE the cinema, after we'd paid for tickets and gone in that it wasn't suitable for epileptics (I'd already figured that out, and decided I didn't care).

I wouldn't have paid normal price for it, but my boyfriend and I went on Orange Wednesdays, and it quite easily was worth my £2.60 and three hours.

It was more girl friendly than I thought. And really quite funny. The cast was well picked. And the plot was nice and simple. We did have to laugh at the podracingness of the last race (almost fails at start, breaks down in the middle, and yet still goes on to win), and were amusing ourselves with "Speed Racer, I am your brother", but it was not that bad really.
