I noticed that we don't appear to have any Death Note topics currently on the first page of threads, and only one on the second (and that's to do with someone mistakenly thinking that the end of Death Note has to do with the Mayan calendar).

I recently obtained volume 3 of the DVD release of Death Note. I have to admit, I don't get the fuss about Misa being annoying (especially that stuff over at IGN). To tell the truth, in the episodes I've seen her in (11 and 12), she is actually less annoying than she seemed to be in the manga.

Volume 3 of the DVDs seem to be the best thus far, especially with L and Light meeting for the first time.

Only recently took delivery of the 1st DVD it is good but here in the UK outrageously expensive at near £17 that works out more than the cost of a gallon of petrol per episode :(

£5 Gallon

I love aneme but I find any series rediculusly expensive when compared to a feature I have gotten into Noir which is good but again a series and 3 or 4 episode for £17 to £18 seems a bit steep to me baring in mind that you will want to buy rest of the series at the same price (+ delivery) compared to a Doctor Who DVD (£10) or a Manga feature (£12) or Studio Ghibli feature (£8 to £12 and a masterpiece)

I like Misa. She's so crazy. XD She's like, "HOMG I'm this uber hot supermodel with gothic tendencies who's going to stalk Kira!" The fact that she's such an idiot keeps her from being a guy fantasy though, and it suits the story.

Yeah. Out of the women in Death Note, I'd prefer Kiyomi Takada.

Don't have to. Have a little thing called a local library that has (now) all 12 volumes.

IGN's anime site is an ameteurish joke. If I want a review (or news), I'll go to animeondvd.com.

your library has manga? cool.

anyway Misa is a character that lightens up the anime, that has heavy themes.

Read the first manga volume, didn't quite click with me. Yes, my local library has Bleach manga too.

I think Bleach takes a pretty long time to get going. It didn't click with me either until the second arc started in like the 9th volume.

My library has it too (and not much else), so I gave it a long time to grow on me.

i liked it at first until Light and L had this huge internal monologue over giving away their identities during a freaking tennis match. i couldn't take it seriously after that.
