Out of all his stories that have been turned
into movies, what one is your favorite?

Personally, my favorite would be 1408.
It is freaky as hell and John Cusack pulls out all the stops
to give an awesome performance.

I don't really like any of the film versions. The books are just better. Besides, they always change little stuff for no reason and that bothers me.
For example: Needful Things: In the book, Nettie's dog is a cute harmless little mutt who is killed with a corkscrew. In the movie, it'a a rottweiler that gets skinned and strung up to swing at the door when it opens.
Why?
The cute, loves everybody, little dog is a much more horrifying victim.

Just one example, there's stuff in all of them like this.

My favorite Stephen king Movie would be Sleepwalkers. No book to ruin, just a freaky movie.

I have only watched The Green Mile, and the only thing I hate about that film was that they took out the character of Brad Dolan, the mean nursing home attendant who reminded Paul Edgecombe of Percy Wetmore (the sadistic and well-connected guard).

Sleepwalkers (1992): "A mother-and-son team of strange supernatural creatures come to town to seek out a virgin to feed on."

The closing theme - Baodicea - was performed by Enya, who hummed all the vocals, accompanied only by a drum.

The Shawshank Redemption, not only was it a great movie, but it was very faithfully adapted from the novella. Most of the truly bad SK movies have been just butchered from the books, ironically enough the worst screenwriter for butchering Stephen King books is... Stephen King.

Shawshank and Stand By Me were my favorite dramas, for horror, I liked The Stand, The Shining the Kubrick version, and The Mist, I still haven't seen the Green Mile

"The Dead Zone"; mostly because I have a thing for Christopher Walken.

Frank Darabont's three King Adaptations (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist) are all FANTASTIC. And Kubric's The Shining? Oh, man, what an entertaining movie.

Stand By Me.

I prefer the TV remake of The Shining over the Jack Nicholson version.

I also liked the TV miniseries Salem's Lot, It, and Maximum Overdrive ("Trucks")

The Green Mile. But The Shinning and Christine were great as well.

Secret Window is also good.

Despite the movie being unintentional funny in parts,
Johnny Depp gives a very good performance.

Misery is awesome!

I don't look at The Shining as an adaptation really...
More like a reworking.
Kubrick took King's OK book and screwed with it, producing one of the most amazing films ever put to celluloid.

Kubrick did King a favor.

The Green Mile is my favourite adaptation (the scene of curing Paul gets funnier when you think that while John used to cure people by putting his mouth on a sick part of body, he didn't do it with Paul in this case 8) 8O - here using his mouth would totally destroy the whole scene ). I watched it 7 years ago for the first time and it still occupies one of the very top places on my private list of my favourite movies.

Shawshank Redemption also belongs to the category of my favourites.

I watched The Stand because I always loved with all my heart movies and novels the action of which takes place in a postapocalyptic world but the series as such is nothing special. One of my favourite characters from the novel is Trashcan Man.
