Amen to that! I've never watched TV for most of my life, but sci-fi has always slurped me in easily.

So who would be your favorite Doctor? I've only seen the 10th Doctor, so I have to say him.

I've heard that from many people. I haven't got an opprotunity to see his Doctor, but I wouldn't mind watching him play the role.

I started watching the show in July, and already have a boxed set of some of the DVDs! It really is an addicting show. I plan on eventually collecting the toys.

I also love this show. The concept alone allows for anything to be done; which is brilliant. I've only seen the newer series though that was revived a few years ago (9th and 10th Doctors). Now that there's a big drought until more episodes start, I'm going to try and track down some of the older episodes.

The drought depends on where you live. In the US, the BBC America channel has just started showing series 3. So by the time the 5th starts in the UK, the US might still be watching the 3rd or 4th.

I agree. Several come close (MST3K, Firefly), but none match my love for Doctor Who.

That was a great two parter just screened: Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead (Series 4). I like Alex Kingston a lot, I only watched ER while she was in it.

I wonder if all that hinting means the current doctor is going to exit for an older doctor and Alex Kingston becomes the new assistant.

I like Donna (Catherine Tate) but she's too similar to Rose and the writers seem to make her fairly two dimensional, like a panto character. I think she only agreed to do the one series so we should get a new assistant for the next series.

Best Sci-Fi ever... and IMHO, nothing comes close.

So... unless this is going to become the most BORING Dr.Who thread ever, we should make better use of it - and not (OMG) a thread about which Doctor or which Companion is your favourite...

How about discussing some of these things...

1. Do you think that the US Productions (the specials for next year - and possibly beyond) will lose the "magic" that is Dr. Who - in the same way as "The Enemy Within" - the US TV movie did?

2. What about the proposed Feature Film - good or bad idea? - and on what topic?

3. Would it be a good or a bad move for them to cover the Time War (using McGann's Doctor - and Regenerating into Eccleston) as a Feature Film or a special, or do we not want any more McGann and do we want the Doctor's past (particularly early Gallifrey life/flashbacks and the Time War) to remain shrouded in secrecy?

4. Is the Doctor, "The Other" and was he something else before becoming a Time Lord?

I heard a rumor that David Tennant is going to play The Riddler in the next Batman movie. This is of course a total rumor... but you never know.
