Right now my favourite sports movie of all time is on: The Natural, starring Robert Redford as a once-promising baseball prodigy who finally gets his big break, 16 years after a mysterious incident involving a woman in black and a bullet in his chest. It came out in the early 80s, so I didn't see it until many years later. When I see it now, it makes me believe that there's still a chance for someone like me to make an impact in this world. I've never read the book, but it's one of the few instances where I can set aside my general distaste for movies based on books.
