Is there a film out there you feel was written for you? That you could be the one of the characters?

For me, right now, it would have to be Hitchcock's Psycho. Taking a shower has turned out to be downright scary, regardless of intentions.

Johnny Depp's role in "Benny and Joon" and in "Dead Man".

Maybe a bit of Forest Whitaker's role in "Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai",
but not the violent parts.

Artificial Intelligence

I could relate to Joon and Sam easily in Benny & Joon.

I can imagine how frustrated Joon must be about her over protective brother while I had an over protective aid in my school. I bet she did all that crazy stuff to drive him crazy such as lighting a Kleenex on fire as she is looking at Benny. She looks at him as he stamps it out and she sticks her nose in the air as she goers to her art studio.

Sam had very strong obsessions and interests and he likes to act out the moves like I did with 101 Dalmatians and I have acted out Benny & Joon.

Edward Scissorhands. Everyone (except one person) liked him until he gets involved breaking into someone's office and he gets trapped in there because the guy had a security system where the door locks and the windows close and the alarm goes off when someone goes in the office. Everyone starts hating him after that. When I was 9, these kids liked me and then they started to hate me when I started to have accidents on the monkey bars. I can imagine how Edward felt.

Based on what I've read, Imagination; particularly the character Anna.

Fight Club. The main character(s) works through loneliness, depression, and dissatisfaction with consumerism to pull off something ballsy and meaningful and reach self actualization.

One Hour Photo: The protagonist wants friends but never managed to create them.
He was sexually assaulted as a child and grew up overweight.
Everyone made fun of him. The protagonist obtained PTSD and possible OCD.
The movie is so freaky. Reconmended.

Lars & the Real Girl: I could identify myself with Lars because he takes his work very seriously. I take my studies very seriously. He has no friends by reason.
I have no friends by force. Lars resides in a garage with his sister-in-law and his brother living nearby in the main house until the day Lars brings a "visitor" to see them.
Everything gets weird after that. Reconmended.

American Beauty, Taxi Driver, A.I., Fight Club, and One Hour Photo were all good picks. Among my top movies.

Personally, I'm going to have to go with Forrest Gump or Roy from Matchstick Men.

Oh, and I have yet to see Lars and the Real Girl, but I want to.

Forrest Gump: I identify with Forrest because everyone tells him he's stupid, but he's not.
Everyone tells me I'm stupid, but I know I'm not.
He meets famous figures, such as Elvis, JFK, and Richard Nixon without even trying!
I have met only one political figure without trying to do so!
In January, he will be the first gay mayor of a major US city, the city being Portland.

Ed Norton's character in Fight Club- mostly because of the insomnia and distorted sense of reality;
again Norton in 25th Hour (hard to say exactly why)
the Dude from Big Lebowski
Jack Nicholson in The Passenger
