Like in the book, I thought their interaction was awkward. I think the subsequent books are much better than the first. Although I utterly loved the music especially the song playing at their prom. "And I cut my long baby hair..."

Also, the experience itself will always be tainted with the fact that a man tried to pay me for sex. It took me a while after the movie to realize what he was trying to do. Always be wary of guys alone in a theater in a movie for teens! But overall the it was alright I guess. The soliciting for sex guy made the memory much better.

I thought it was quite good. Certainly 1000 times better than James Bond... which I felt like walking out on.... (and I love all the other bond films except both versions of Casino Royale).

Twilight was quite original... if I hadn't read the book, I'd have considered the ending to be unexpected.

Bleh, I refuse to watch that movie.

I really, really, really don't like Twilight.

i only saw the commercials. they're vampires, and they don't mind the sun. bad. plus it came off as a cheesy teen drama tv show. again, bad.

has anyone seen twilight and lost boys and thinks twilight's better? 'cause i'd love to hear why.

I hated Twilight. Then I watched Hellsing, now I hate it more. :P Vampires that sparkle? Now that is just a disgrace. He doesn't even drink human blood! What self respecting vampire doesn't drink human blood!

To summarize:

I've seen it twice now. The first time, I had just finished classes for the year and my mom took me to a movie to celebrate. Since Twilight was about to start, we went and saw it and were pleasantly surprised. We saw it again Saturday morning. My mom's actually really gotten into it. She bought all the books and won't stop reading them. She even managed to read three chapters sitting at stoplights yesterday! 8O

I am a big fan of the vampire genre, so I have seen it, some of it was good, but didnt like sparkling in the sun thing, or some of the fact that they seem to be so powerfull, and they dont even drink the life essence of humans. Now a Hellsing live action, now that would be cool, but it would probably be an R rating, for things like, squeezing eyeballs and stabing people with hands or if in like in the manga, choping a guys skull in half useing only a hand. Almost every vampire movie puts some weakness to being hurt by the sun, but instead looking like Emma Frost is a bit too confusing.

I do like vampires and I will see this film, though I do think it's silly that they are sparkly vampires who are basically just super-powered in every way and have no weaknesses.

My main interest is with the inspiration for the books, however. The reason I started reading Twilight is because of the connection to Muse. Stephanie Meyer has said that listening to Muse albums was the inspiration for the story, and that many chapters relate directly to Muse songs. I find it really interesting that Muse lives up to their namesake in that way. It's also strange that when I listen to the albums, I see a space-age revolution playing out in my mind, and not sparkly vampires.

Saw it with my girlfriends. We thought it was crap. Book was just a sexually repressed Mormon writing a bad vampire fanfiction. Movie was too girly for me, I can never get into romance novels and movies. It's just too unrealistic.

I got the book for my birthday from my sister who is obsessed.
I read it to be polite, but found the writing weak and the story-line predictable.
My 12 year old daughter is enjoying it 'tho.
I have no inclination to see the movie.
oh and by the by, I think the lead actor is ugly and creepy, so I don't really get his popularity either.
Yet another hyped up piece of fluff.

I have not seen the movie, but just about everyone I knew who seen it said it sucks.
The books are very poorly written and predicitable.
The reason why tweens love them so much is because they don't know any better.

Ugh, I know what you mean. He's just not handsome, no matter what light or angle you take a picture of him in.

Vampires do exist but not in the way you think. The problem is people continue to live this fantasy through whatever lens Hollywood provides. To illustrate my point... what if that male lead was portrayed by Michael Jackson? Did I destroy the image you had of Twilight? That's my point...
