Hellsing
Okay... Since I haven't made one of these topics in a few months, I'll just go ahead and post it.
Hellsing has been my biggest obsession for the past two years. I adore all the characters, even if I don't condone some of their attitudes/actions. I've memorized the names of all the English dub's voice actors, and I've collected all the DVDs that have been released so far in the US. Even though I don't own the manga anymore, I've kept up to date and I know how it ends, so nothing you say can spoil it for me.
Anyway, I'm hoping some other people are into Hellsing so I have something to talk about while my mom is at work (it helps if you're familiar with the characters of Trinity Blood as well, since my obsession with that runs right alongside my Hellsing one).
That being said... Anybody interested in talking with me about this wonderful series? Oh and please vote in the (super huge) poll! I'm curious to see who everybody's favorite character is!
Sorry there's no option for Tubalcain Alhambra, but I think I maxed out the poll... Oh well. ^_^;

My favirout character has to be Alucard for many reasons, least favirout is Anderson who I think is a maniac aswell as most of the Iscariot being crazy basterds, I like Luke Valentine as he has some class, but Jon Valentine is just disgusting. I have seen the dub of the anime, the dub of the OAV that has come out, and I own the Manga except for number 2 and 9, kind of anoying as the second OAV was one of my favirout. Seras was kind of wussy in the anime, the OAV she held her own for things, I am looking forward to see when she gets her real powers as she absorbs some of Pip's confidence and literely flys through the enemy. I found that if you read or watch it for too long you start to feel realy weird from all the crazies who do things for no reason, especialy the Major who seems like he is a confusing character, but make it known tbat his only goal is to creat war and therfor some kind of fun. One thing I found a bit humurous was how he described each one of his 1000 vampires worth 1000 soldiers and saying that the total plus himself was 1'000'001 soldiers.

Yeah, the Iscariots aren't very good representations of us Catholics. That's probably why I don't enjoy them as much as the other characters; they're way too fanatical and they do things in God's name that they shouldn't. However, I will not deny that I find Anderson's dubbed Gaelic accent to be very attractive.
Luke always kind of bored me, but I know what you mean about him being classy. Jan is definitely disgusting, especially when he pops that one guy's eye out in the 2nd OVA - yuck! But I also find his dialog to be very humorous because I think excessive swearing is funny.
I actually like Seras' character more in the anime version than in the OVA, because so far in the OVA she hasn't had many lines and I feel they've used her too much for comedic effect. In the anime, she had more lines and it more deeply explored her inner struggle of losing her humanity and becoming a vampire. On the flip side, however, I like Integra's characterization much more in the OVAs than in the anime, because in the anime she was very cold; an ice queen you could say, whereas in the OVA she seems much more charismatic and a bit warmer in terms of personality.
Seeing everybody going crazy in Hellsing actually pumps me up and gives me some mental energy. That's part of the reason why I like it so much. In fact, when I bought the first Hellsing OVA and sat through the whole Alucard vs. Anderson fight, my body was shaking and my hands were clammy from all the excitement!
I like the Major, even though he doesn't make a lot of sense and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I didn't really pay much attention to that part of his speech, but now that you mention it, it is kind of funny. My favorite part of his speech is in the dubbed 4th OVA, when he sticks his hand out really fast and says "WE NEED A MASS-IVE WAR". The way he says it makes me giggle every time.

I guess Seras does have less story development in the OVA then she did in the anime, the anime as mostly about her anyway, including where she whent back to where she used to live before hand. But see the way she acts in comparison in the part where they whent to northen Ireland and she goes a little bit beserk in the OVA, and literely starts busting heads. The anime had a great deal of Seras thinking what to do and meeting others to understand.
Jan did have some great lines, such as what he said over the the radio, and when he opens the door to the round table. I guess Luke was a bit boreing in nature, didn't rea;y say much, but I dound it cool how in the blink of an eye he dodged a trap leaving his jacket behind, and could do that little disapearing act leaving the soldiers in a bloody mess.
One thing I am confused a bit about is in the manga, Melenium mention something about werewolves, I thought that might explain something about that errand boy, who is also a mystery, but I thought they mentioned something about there being more, and werewolves arent even mentioned in the anime and OVA. One big difference I am glad they left out of the OVA from the anime, was how there were so many prairs all the time, Hellsing did prairs before every mission, I think though not sure they had Anderson doing even more. But Anderson is cool, haveing his accent while he recites scrptures, his will to kill monsters and careing for orphins would seem worthy to hold him a hero, but he holds just as much hate for anyone of a different religion, and his motives are odd even letting his boss to die.
I havent realy thought about Integra's different characters, but I guess it was interesting seeing her different side especialy when she gives Alucard his order.

Yeah, the whole beating ghouls to a bloody pulp thing that Seras did in the 1st OVA was something I liked. I thought it was cool how her attitude was like, "They might as well be zombie pumpkins." Hehe.
Ooh, and I agree that it was cool what Luke did when he turned invisible and started slicing up the soldiers!
Ah, and about the Millennium "werewolf" thing... They are actually referring to a unit of the Nazi army called the Werwolf forces.
As for werewolves in the traditional sense... The errand boy, Schrodinger, is not a werewolf, but a catboy; his name and his seeming immortality refer to the Schrodinger's Cat theory in Quantum physics. However, there is an actual werewolf among Millennium's troops. I can tell you who it is if you really want to know.
