What do you think? I utterly hate them and would rather slam my testicles in a car door than watch one. I hardly ever watch TV anymore to be honest.

Generally, I dislike the whole concept, but I've found a couple interesting to watch.

Biggest Loser sucked me in, but I could live without it.

Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares are fun because the first lets you observe how personality flaws can really make someone unfit for a job and the other will amaze you at how some people manage to keep a restaurant in business.

the only ones i will watch are american idol, americas next top model, and real world/road rules challenges.

I hate em. Especially all on MTV which have become progressively worse over the years.

I remember back in the days when MTV used to show MUSIC.

I agree. MTV started the whole blasted genre with their damnable "Real World." Reality shows are the worst form of entertainment humanity has ever come up with - bypassing the Roman Gladitorial games. Yeah, MTV stopped showing videos a long time ago. I hear even VH1 hardly shows them any more. Someone said, and I agree, that MTV should be forced to change it's name to "the Stupid Reality Show Channel."

I hate competition shows.

I prefer docudrama reality such as "Jon and Kate Plus 8" or design/makeover shows like "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition".

And between the two Gordon Ramsey reality shows, I prefer "Kitchen Nightmares" over "Hell's Kitchen"...mainly cuz KN is a makeover show.

What is the point? I thought the whole advantage of TV was getting AWAY from "reality." If I want "reality" on TV, I'll watch the freaking news.

For me it depends on which reality shows. I can watch some of the competitive/game-show-type reality shows such as 'Survivor', 'Big Brother', 'American Idol', 'Wipeout', and 'Rock of Love/Charm School', as well as certain unscripted miniseries-type docs such as the one MTV had a year ago called 'The Paper' about a high-school newspaper; however, it's the so-called 'scripted reality' (there's an oxymoron for you) such as 'The Hills' that make me sick at my stomach... :roll:
