I'd include Inuyasha, but the ending sucked so bad that it pissed me off. Likewise, FMA's final episode (first series) seemed a little too poorly written for what was an otherwise excellently developed series. I never saw the next series though, so maybe I missed something.
Y'know, I felt the same way about the ending of Tiger & Bunny. It seemed like they really half-assed the ending of a series with great build-up. The ending raised more questions than answers. And then they decide not to do a second season, but a series of movies, the 2nd or 3rd of which is supposed to pick up where the TV series left off. I noticed that Madoka Magica is doing the same thing, having movies pick up where the TV series left off instead of a 2nd season (though Madoka Magica's TV ending was a
lot more satisfying than Tiger & Bunny's). It really irritates me that I've finally found anime that I'd be willing to watch multiple seasons of, but then they decide to finish it off with a movie trilogy instead. Mostly for the fact that I'm worried that the movies won't get licensed in the US like the TV series were.
Sorry for rambling. ^^;
