Haven't seen the movie but I am familiar with Sook Yin Lee who was a VJ on Much Music here in Canada.
Looks like an interesting movie, looking online for it.

Yes, this was how I heard of it. She was nearly fired from her job at the CBC! Luckily her fans supported her : )

I suppose there should be a Warning that it is NSFW, just in case...

god, i thought this was terrible. it's like how can you be so unrealistic when you're trying so hard to be realistic? it's kind of sad.

It's not exactly everybody's cup of tea. What parts did you find were trying to be realistic? I found it camp and over the top, kind of like Hedwig and the Angry Inch without the emotional aspect. Not sure what you mean by sad. I don't think it accomplished what it set out to but it didn't totally bottom out, if the ending were different it may of redeemed itself. If you meant depressing, yeah it pissed me off too, not exactly equal treatment. But the message about meaning and fulfilment being found in the creation, documentation and communication of our innermost lives rang true and for that I'll support it and wish John Cameron Mitchell's next venture the best.

The dude giving himself a blowjob has to be one of the greatest opening scenes for a movie. :o

the dialogue when the whatsername sex therapist who can't come is talking to the lesbians is so, ugh, post-big brother, everyone talking on top of each other, overlapping, overdoing it. which can work, if what's coming out of their mouths is not completely ridiculous, like aaron katz's or andrew bujalski's films, but here! oh my god. their descriptions of their orgasms. so so so stupid. : /

Whole heartedly agree. I forgot about that part. Lesbians get shafted pretty bad through the whole film, that was my "not exactly equal" rant.
