Age: 22 years, 1 month, 13 days

Location: a small town in a rural area south of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Hobbies and Interests: collecting books  , taking care of animals, cooking, studying how birds communicate, etymology and linguistics, taking things apart and figuring out how they work, I am good at writing but not communicating off the top of my head, lately I've been interested in going to Australia but that may be a while.

Why are you here? To find friends and discuss ideas.

When were you diagnosed?: In May of 2003 if I remember correctly.

Favorite subjects: Chemistry, physics, ancient history, grammar, linguistics, theology, Bible.

Year/Grade: Not applicable. I've taken the GED and maxed it out on everything except writing (because I turned in a rough draft instead of putting effort into it.) I'm still studying on my own but hope to go to college someday when I can afford it.

Favorite music: Baroque period of Classical

Books: Robinson Crusoe, Carry On Mr. Bowditch, Blood Moon, Tombs of Anak, The Oath, This Present Darkness, Piercing The Darkness, Nightmare Academy and other books by Peretti, Mystery of Ireta, Third Girl and other Agatha Christie books.

Clothing: Yes.

How did you find this website? I searched for "Asperger's"

Job: Not yet.

Plans for the future? Someday I want to live in Australia and study the language of wild birds of various types.

Any comments? Reading is where your eyes look at funny symbols and make thoughts.

What is your first name? Bridget

Age: 35

Location: Louisiana

Hobbies and Interests: Computers, reading novels and manga, video games, RPGs, kaleidoscopes (collecting certain types), names, anime music videos (collecting, organizing, rating according to my own little system, and once in a while, I make my own), and music.

Why are you here? To hopefully find some good pointers on getting along with bosses and co-workers and coping with the constant interruptions and changes at work.

When were you diagnosed?: Diagnosed unofficially by a roommate (a psychology major) at 18, diagnosed unofficially by one of my sisters at 35. Having read up on Asperger Syndrome recently, I rather agree with their unofficial diagnoses. Currently trying to determine whether getting an official diagnosis would be beneficial or detrimental.

Favorite subjects: I got my Bachelor's in Computer Science. I also enjoyed music and mythology.

Year/Grade: Graduated in 1997

Favorite music: Symphonic metal is my favorite, but I'm also partial to rock, punk, and alternative, and I used to obsess about several 60's bands (in the 80's).

Books: Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series as well as his Dirk Gently novels, the Harry Potter novels, various manga and light novels, role-playing game books, several books about computers, religion, personality typing, dreams, and music, several instruction manuals, and a large book of baby names (related to my interest in names).

TV shows/Movies: Heroes, Bleach, The Dark Crystal, Mystery Men, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Instrument: Clarinet (played for 7 years), Acoustic guitar (took lessons for a year and a half), Ocarina (self-taught, can play a few songs), recorder (could play many songs by the Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel on this during my obsessions with them). Also played around a bit with the auto-harp. I also sang alto in the high school chorus, and can read music.

Do you like sports? No.

Family: I have a father, 2 younger sisters, and a grandmother with dementia, and various aunts and uncles and cousins. Currently living with my father and one of my sisters.

Clothing: comfortable solid colored shirts and black pants, with either black Crocs or black loafers, depending on the setting.

How did you find this website? Googling for information about adults with Asperger Syndrome.

Job: I'm an office assistant.

Plans for the future? Own my own home, and have it completely paid for before I retire. Keep a decent job long enough to actually retire from it. Live alone and remain single and celibate and amuse myself with my various hobbies until I die of causes that are as natural as possible. Enjoy the afterlife.

Any comments? None at the moment.
