Look, can we keep this thread nice? how about we talk about otherkin and ignore anubis. he's a judgemental arrogant jerk, and I don't think we should respond anymore. He lives to find threads like this so he can make you guys feel bad. Please don't pay him any mind.

Bollocks. I have a life, I don't intend to make anyone feel bad. I intend to criticise such a belief, not anyone in particular.

You are justifying your beliefs using theoretical Physics, and the implications of infinity. However, infinite possiblities does not mean that the possibility of magic/magical creatures is at all likely. There are degrees of likelihood within one universe. Indeed, there isn't even any actual physical evidence, let alone a scientific explanation for magic and such.
Your only credible defence is individual freedom, and whilst such beliefs are totally unfounded and extremely improbable, you still are legally free people, and thus no-one's stopping you. Don't get me wrong, if there was a shred of evidence for such things presented to me, then I'd be inclined to look at it. However, no such evidence has emerged.
And with that, I've said enough. I think this whole otherkin is sad and tragic.
Good day.

I guess that I have always felt different (AS probably) and oddly connected to Fae as presented in films like Dark Chrystal, Labyrinth, etc., but it was when I was 16 that I really started to question the reality that was laid out to me. I started reading about Wicca and other religious paradigms. I was also feeling like I had "something" following me that was not positive - I would literally feel it clutching to my back.

After high school, I was still obsessed with the new age/occult. Also got heavily into alcohol (to allow myself to socialize) and LSD, which gave me new perceptions. Still did not feel entirely human, but did not link to Fae.

About 19, I started using something called DXM, which is a disassociative that allows increased sensitivity to electromagnetic energy. With my magical knowledge I was able to remove the "demon" and was opened up to new possibilities. My world took a magical twist, and I began to increasingly come across events and people who would classify as magical, many of them talking to me about my fae background.

I decided to pursue this through magical means, eventually leading to visions of past lives as fae and a stronger connection to the fae as a whole.

Giving fuel to Anubis, this drugs/new age beliefs were a factor in this, and the lines between delusions and reality are very blurred. This is not a belief that I live my day-to-day life by in a winged outfit, but rather a personal mythology that I use for self-realization. It is the way I internally express my relationship to the divine force.

Am I Fae? Technically no. Do I FEEL Fae? Yes, and that is good enough for me.

Thats actually a fascinating story.

You know of onis, correct? Well, I'm kinda like one of those. Except for the whole beautiful part. I read somewhere that female onis do exsist, but they're not as demonic in appearance as their male counterparts. I could be some kind of Australian oni for all we know!

Otherkin?

I'll admit I'm intrigued by this topic.
Centuries ago, there was quite a lot of
belief in fairies (other than Tinkerbell);
one particular part of that belief was talk
about changeling children. I suspect that
if I had been born (say) 200 years ago in
Scotland or Ireland, I would probably be
thought of as just such a changeling.

In my case, it was a step-by-step, piece-by-piece finding.
It began with feelings of separation/alienation from most
others, then progressed with an amateur interest in British
fairy-related folklore, and continued with attempts to visualize
how people in Scotland and Ireland two hundred years ago
would view the symptoms of autism without having today's
medical terminology and with a greater belief in intentional
and malevolent agencies (fairies, demons, et cetera) than
we have today.

According to Wikipedia, otherkin are people who consider themselves to be non-human creatures (either animal or mythical)
