Oy! 8O

Sorry you have to live thru that! Bet that saps your energy!
I trained on the Mohave desert - reached 130F - but wasn't humid at all - so wasn't really all that bad.
(Just froze your butt off at night!! ! 8O ).

Sounds like heaven to me. Both in Italy and Nevada, when it got to 120 I would go outside and be perfectly happen. I think I might be a lizard disguised as a human! 8O

SleepyDragon, here in the *ahem*...dammit, lost my train of thought, don't think this is the anything paradise of Phoenix AZ our white boys with dreads are trying to have street cred and rap. Or, they're skaters. Does that qualify as urban surfing?

Nan, come to think of it, I think I remember hearing that you live in my general area of the world, so, yeah, you do know. We just may get less rain.

I once almost moved to Phoenix, even had a job picked out but it was too cold in November and December for me. And you're heat at 110 was definitely not as hot as our 98 with 100% humidity. For one thing, my nose always bled in Phoenix. It missed the humidity.

Your cold is also COLD! It freezes even during the summer when it drops at night. Well, at least to me. I couldn't stand how much it dropped. Give me 80 nights and over 90 during the day and I'm happy ...with 100% humidity.

TARANTULA UPDATE:

A couple of months ago, Rosie molted - and it turned out that she was a he (sort of like that Lou Reed song). Man-tarantulas have short lifespans, and most of that span is spent looking for lady tarantulas. (Testosterone: a blessing... and a curse.)

Not wanting Rosie (now yclept Rosario) to die a virgin, I proceeded to purchase two new tarantulas. Since it is nigh-on impossible to determine spider gender without microscopic examination of the molted exoskeleton, this was an exercise in probability (POP QUIZ: If Lupine has discerned that her tarantula is a male, what is the probability that one of the two tarantulas of indeterminate gender that she purchased on the Internet is female?) After allowing Pinky and Bunny time to adapt to their new habitat, I opened Rosario's enclosure to allow him to check out the maybe-ladies. I figured that, well, I can't tell the difference, but surely the man-tarantula can!

Unfortunately, I was distracted (still am I suppose, but that's a different story) and lost track of Rosario. Haven't seen him since. Logically, I concluded that he fell into a wormhole and is now seeking lady spiders in Chuck's library.

Or maybe the pitbull ate him.

Yep. Sounds like the testosterone curse:

First step from bondage
oblivious to all
save the lady held in eight loving eyes
a pitbull snack.
8O

A tragic tale. Perhaps ballad material for duncansbass?

I'm thinking minor chords. Those sound sad.

I'm also thinking a blues song of defiance "Ain't no dog gonna dog me 'round"

Italy, ZanneMarie? That's way cool! I'd love to go there!

Didn't know it got that hot there, though.

Not so cool when it's 125 and no air conditioning. LOL I was fine, but my husband and the dog I was dog sitting were miserable. I may have been the only happy person on the entire island!

Italy is very old and very small if you are an American. They are also very emotional and like to stand VERY close to you. LOL Still, I got along better with Italians than Americans. I still get along better with people from other cultures. I think they think my strangeness is explained by culture! LOL

8O 8O 8O VERY close? (gulp).

We whine when humidity tops 30%. I have lived in SE TX, and know about 100% humidity. I'll just stay over here, thank you. Hats off to you, though, for being able to tolerate it.

And out 'winter' temps to bottom out rapidly, and without humidity it is very biting. Summer temps stay up around 100 even in the middle of the night.

I know. I almost moved there remember? But I LOVED that weather. LOL That's when I was determined to go. By November, I was determined to move further SOUTH in Florida. Leave me in the swamp. (Cueing a little CCR)

Merle just emailed me to say she's going to be offline for a bit - she's moving and she's not sure when she'll be back in a fully connected state.
