I thought I had better do this, since I have been here 4 months and have not yet got round to doing it. Anyway, it might be useful for people to refamilarize themselves with the "Mad Commie" and to realise that he is human like the rest of you, even though at times some of you may feel like the need to worship me or ridicule me by turns - I am still nonetheless very human.

Photography, Computers, weather, philosophy, physics, mathematics, geology, very ancient cultures, seismology & tectonics, "crustal displacement theroy", cars, hot chicks, graphics engines, Artifical intelligence, and trees.
Why are you here?
I am here because I am not there. If I were there I would not be here. But I could be somewhere else if I am not there, which is also not here. I am obviously not nowhere, Then I wouldn't know where I was. Even if I didn't know where i was, I'd still be somewhere, wouldn't I?
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder):
ADHD: may 2004
Aspergers syndrome: November 3rd, 2005
Favorite subjects:
I covered that in "interests"
Year/Grade:
Some college, couldn't handle the pressure. I don't handle deadlines well. And now being 35 and trying to go back to college I feel so much older than everyone. I've found colleges to be mostly 18-22, there's a sharp dropoff in people over that. I feel so out of place there.
Favorite music:
I like most stuff, except trendy pop crap. Opera sucks too.
Books:
I read tech books and other non-fiction. Novels bore me.
TV shows/Movies:
I don't really like TV, Hollywood pumps out such terrible stuff. I like things that make one think.
Instrument:
I can cup my hands together and make weird noises.
Do you like sports?
Sports are useless to me.
Family:
Why yes, I have one, dosen't everybody?
As for a wife or children, no. Hopefully some day, but I don't meet new people very often.
Clothing:
Yes, I wear clothing (most of the time). I've found that I get very cold if I don't. And there's a risk of sunburn.
How did you find this website?
sad to say, but I heard about it on the news. You all know which story I'm talking about.
I makes me want to be more involved in the aspergers community. I don't want to see the media paint us out to be some kind of monsters. There really need to be much more understanding out there about what Aspergers and Autism spectrum disorders are and how our lives are affected. I'm still trying to figure this out. It's all so new to me right now. I get diagnosed, then the following weekend, I hear these news stories painting it out like folks with aspergers are crazy people ready to snap. But that's media sensationalism for ya.
Job:
I'm forming 2 businesses, one in software development with a couple of friends, and another for my self to sell my photography. I don't know what I'm doing, and I'm not making any money. I'm trying to pull mysef up after 5 years of absolutely NOTHING. I was laid off my web design job in 2001, and I haven't worked since. It has been very difficult.
Plans for the future?
Hopefully my business endeavors will work out. I don't plan on working for someone else in the typical "job", I'm done with the 9-5 life. It was killing me.
Any comments?
Hi everbody, feel free to PM me, I'm online a lot wherever I am, so I check e-mail frequently. That's my business, web sites.

What is your first name? Scott
Age: 37
Location: Socialist Republic of California
Hobbies and Interests: Photography (landscapes, infrastructure, abstract, macro) hiking, backpacking, news, heavy internet use, LA Kings hockey
Why are you here? Because people seem normal here.
When were you diagnosed? Self-diagnosis early in 2005. It took quite some time though. I see self diagnosis as an ongoing process of discovery. I’ve thought about getting diagnosed, but think getting a vasectomy would be even better and around the same price.
Favorite subjects: Uhm….
Year/Grade: Dropped out of high school in 1985. A huge mistake, but at the time I had absolutely no grasp of the consequences.
Favorite music: Goa/psy-trance, various electronic styles, nu-jazz, alt-country artists such as Ryan Adams, Whiskeytown, Sun Volt, and traditional Scottish and Irish music. Other artists: Love Spirals Downwards, Vargo, Lucero, Tim McGraw, Tori Amos, Everything But The Girl.
Books: In my youth it was mostly sci-fi and fantasy, as an adult everything from science texts (astronomy, cosmology, geology) WWII history, eastern & western mysticism, and lately, 19th century French literature (Dumas, Hugo.) Authors: Stephen Ambrose, Ayn Rand, Edward Abbey, Mark Twain, Moorcock, Tolkein, etc.
TV shows/Movies: TV – 24, LA Kings hockey games, any of Huell Howser’s PBS shows, Family Guy, American Dad. Movies – Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns. I have little interest in modern movies, but I enjoyed Serenity quite a bit.
Instrument: Guitar, pennywhistle, recorders. I’ve played guitar off and on for over twenty years, but am currently in an extended off phase. I play acoustic fingerstyle stuff and a little bluegrass flatpicking.
Do you like sports? I don’t play sports, but have been an LA Kings fan for almost fifteen years.
Family: I was adopted. My mom and sister are the only family I associate with. Extended family exists, but we don’t speak with their kind.
Clothing: Always wear boots, except when I run. Earth tones and black, most of my clothes are casual stuff from Sears or active wear from REI.
How did you find this website? Linked from somewhere else, can’t remember where.
Job: I became employed again this summer, working as event staff for an event catering business. I finally found work that I enjoy and I work with great people! The daily pay rate is great and would be a living wage if the job were full time. Plus, the work is sporadic, leaving me plenty of free time for photography, hiking, and backpacking. I intend on selling my photography eventually as a side business, but for now I am trying to fill in a few more hours during the week doing temp work. I’m another guy who has had it with the 9-5 drudgery and don’t plan on returning to that lifestyle, unless it’s absolutely necessary for my survival.
Plans for the future? I’m trying to structure my life around part-time and temporary work, living a minimalist lifestyle and maximizing free time so I can enjoy life. I intend on continuing my photography hobby, traveling around the American Southwest on photo expeditions. In the summer of 2006, the business I work for is expanding and my income will increase. Hopefully by then I will have developed a secondary income stream and be able to afford a place of my own, or much more preferably, with an S.O., if I am so blessed. I don’t really want to live alone, or with roommates.
What is your first name? Ryan
Age: 20
Location: Ontario, Canada
Hobbies and Interests: Computers, programming, the internet, online gaming...I pretty much take an interest in anything as long as it can be computerized.
Why are you here? I'm tired of unintentionally saying and doing things that make me look like an insensitive jackass, and maybe I'll get enough support here that I won't go crazy.
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Officially diagnosed with aspergers 3-4 years ago (I can't be bothered to find the actual diagnosis letter).
Favorite subjects: Well, haven't been in school for a couple of years, but I'm going back to college for (suprise suprise) computer programming.
Year/Grade: I got my high school diploma, but grade 11, 12, OAC were pretty much awarded in the 51% range.
Favorite music: Anything composed 100 years before I was born.
Books: Right now I'm reading a book on quantum gravity, "Fingerprints of the Gods" (It's about analysis on ancient architecture that suggests it's creation was thousands of years prior to conventional estimates) and a book on Egyptian Heiroglyphics.
TV shows/Movies: As far as I'm concerned, Stargate SG-1 is the only TV show in existance.
Instrument: I haven't played an instrument in years...but I played the piano when I was 8, if that counts.
Do you like sports? I categorically despise sports in any and all forms.
Family: Remarkably supportive, but sometimes it's obvious that we're from two different worlds.
Clothing: What I call "conservative goth". It's basically goth without the peircings, make-up, fishnets, or personality. But I've got an awesome trenchcoat and I bind my vests in the middle with a nice black and silver belt.
How did you find this website? The miracle called google.
Job: I used to run a convenience store, and before that I was an (uncertified) IT support specialist for Alcoa, but my abysmal performance in my education has now come up to bite me on the ass, forcing my return to school.
Plans for the future? Prove once and for all that I am easily superior to all other life forms on this planet.
Any comments? I've learned that making comments without giving them so much thought that they become out of place in a conversation is a good way to get people to make funny faces at you.
