Re: Squidy, I'm definitely interested in bioanthro as an offshoot of anthropometry and biomechanics. If I knew then what I know now, I'd probably be on a course similar to yours. My interest is applied, some theoretical (I try to avoid the latter lest I get lost and never come out again). I collect data sets of human measurements. My husband is perplexed that as a mathphobe, I love reading charts of numbers and extrapolating derivations from size to size. It makes me downright giddy. Today I'm pumped because I found a data set available from the Japanese Anthropometric Society and sent away for it. It's a small sampling (300) from 97-98 but considering the source, I imagine it to be very high quality and besides, it's a genetically heterogeneous society.
