frog1: Howdy, and hello yourself. Looks like you're at least fortunate that they've figured it out when you were young, that'll give you a head start!
Just thought I'd post a little more, if anyone cares to read it, read on.
Let's see, talking about myself is not something I'm good at.
I enjoy fishing, hiking, and generally being in nature. I have a rowboat and a kayak, and would get a slightly larger fishing boat had I the resources. While loving the outdoors, trees, birds, plants, flowers, rocks, etc, I am overwhelmingly obsessed with fishing, all types. I live in the Finger Lakes region of New York, currently frozen to the couch. I fish year round, except for right now. There isn't enough ice to go icefishing but there is too much to take out the rowboat. I'll fish for anything, although living in the North I'm generally a trout, salmon, and steelhead fisherman. Fly fishing, fly tying, anybody ever wants to talk fishing I'm game!!
I graduated from college, dropped out of grad school, and have been stumbling around for a while. I'm currently in the process of being diagnosed with Asperger's, ADD, and Cyclothymia. Looking back to my childhood it's sort of amazing my folks never realized something was wrong (not wrong, different!)- but, then again, they're a little odd themselves. One of the first things I told my new doc was "I ate Cheerios for breakfast EVERY day for 10 years and threw an absolute fit if I couldn't have them." Her response was priceless. I can't remember what it was, but it was an epiphany to be sure. Since then I've been reading as much as possible about all PDD's, the spectrum, and everything else I can get my hands on. Most of the time it helps, but sometimes the sheer weight of difference gets me down.
Currently, today the 21st I'm on the positive side of things, perhaps a little too positive. Haven't been sleeping much recently nor interacting with the outside.
I have been tying dozens of flies, and have had to use them a few times in the past few weeks, but the doldrums between the end of the fall runs and before ice is tough. Also, due to low sun levels fish activity is relatively low.
I suppose that's enough of an introduction, I don't know what y'all would possibly want to know anyway!
PS
I'm very good natured, love/hate people, appreciate good discussions especially about science, and if I *EVER* offend anyone in a post it's a complete accident, I'm the least confrontational person I've ever met. That's part of why I avoid people, the pain evident in the world can be way to much sometimes... I'll do whatever I can to not add to it.
