Although, I feel I should point out that Khyra is not the name I was given at birth. I changed my name because I realised I associated my "real" name with negative childhood experiences (bullying, etc). People who knew me before I changed my name still tend to call me by my original name, but it's nice to be able to use my new name when I meet new people -- it helps me feel more confident about myself, and consequently puts me on a better footing with new acquaintances.oblio wrote:

The title of the thread was just meant to be self-mocking and light-hearted. Generally speaking, I regard myself as being quite thick-skinned, but I was a bit nervous about introducing myself... which I realise was a bit irrational of me, as I don't think it's possible for any of you to jump through my computer screen and bite me!
