I'll just say hi real quick, it's almost time to go home so writing something quick will help the last few minutes that aren't enough time to get into a new project but an intro will be quick enough to do before I go...

At any rate, my name is Will and I'm a mechanical engineer. I'm 37 years old, I'm married with 2 children - a boy who will be 4 in about a month and a girl who will be 3 in about 3 months.

Being 3 and 2, it'd be a bit early to be conclusive, but our girl seems to be pretty much NT. Both of them were born premature by 6 or 7 weeks and have had some developmental delays, but our boy has had a PDD-NOS diagnosis and we think he fits the symptoms of Asperger's.

As for myself, I think I may fit a diagnosis of Asperger's, but that's a story I don't have the time to get into right now - maybe later. I've definitely long felt that I have a different way of thinking. I think I've managed to overcome the things about my way of thinking that make socialization challenging well enough to function as I need to as a father, husband and engineer...

Anyway, I'll talk about that more when there's time.

My wife has been reading here for a while due to our son, and I thought I'd pop in and say hi... And yesterday we went to see the movie "Adam" and I felt compelled to pop in and provide my thoughts about the movie. Saying it was good or bad wouldn't do it justice since I don't see it as something that can be boiled down that simply, but I will say this: Viewed in a certain context or frame of mind it was good - definitely not great, and definitely viewed in certain contexts it was bad. But I'll write more about that later in the appropriate place.

Welcome, Will.

I'm also an aspie engineer (structural), with enough adaptations to be a 'mildie'. It's great that you're getting in touch with what's going on in your son's brain this early. It'll make it a lot easier for him.

I wanted to be an engineer, but the railroad wasn't hiring.
