Hi everyone. I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 34 and in upstate NY. I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful son who is 2. My son was recently diagnosed with pdd-nos so naturally I dove into researching everything I could about it and lo and behold I see a lot of the traits in me but not really sure if I'm seeing all of this acurately or if I'm just uhmm, how can I put this...."jumping on the bandwagon" so to speak and just getting paranoid? Not sure if that came out right. But anyway, just wanted to say hi. Hi!

It isn't jumping on the band wagon. It is accepted research results.

1. Aspieness runs in families. And Aspies pick Aspie partners at a rate of 4 to 1.

2. Aspieness is not caused by vaccines or mercury.

Note, some aspies are more aspie than other aspies.

Wobbegong, yeah I'm pretty much starting to accept that what I read is really pointing to me having at least some autistic/aspie traits. I know what you mean by it running in families. I have a 2nd cousin who has aspergers too and my son has recently been diagnosed with pdd-nos. And from what my mother has been telling me about my oldest brother growing up, it sounds like he is somewhere on the spectrum too. Never wanted to cuddle, had no fear and usually took off running, didn't want much interactive play and lots of other things. He's very intelligent and very quirky. So, it definitely is somewhere in my family. I've noticed things my son has done since three months old so I know for sure vaccines were not any contributing factor at all.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

These links helped me so much. I hope they help you.

It stopped my boyfriend from calling me Rainman. He did that for 3 weeks until he saw these videos. I didn't care except that he wasn't getting me until he saw these vids.

I am also from NY....Poughkeepsie.

Where are you from?

I am getting evaluated at the Cody Center for Autism in NYC in 4 days.
