Yeah, I'm as brand new as it gets. I was diagnosed with Aspergers about 10 years ago and I like to think I'm one of those people you couldn't easily pinpoint as being one with Aspergers. I'm not a scholar or anything, I like to think I'm a pretty average 19 year old, except for my taste in music. I am a trained pianist/organist, and I like to also think that because of my Aspergers I became good at both, or at the very least the "high-functioning" part is what I'm going for. I also realize that this topic is highly awkward but the first post is always kind of awkward by default.

Now convinced that I'm a bit autistic, but still unsure if I'd qualify for a diagnosis, since it causes me few problems. Apparently people who are familiar with the autism spectrum can readily spot that I'm a bit autistic, though.

Given a “tentative” diagnosis as a child as I needed services at school for what was later correctly discovered to be a major anxiety disorder.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
