I was recently diagnosed with Asperger's which explained a lot for me at least.

Having had difficulties understanding why I for example wasn't able to chit chat about the weather without feeling extremely awkward and so on, in life, made the final diagnosis after a long period of tests, both a relief and somewhat of a chock.

So here I am, having found this site through Google.

I am 34. I live in Sweden. I have an assortment of interests, but they mainly evolve around painting, drawing, RPG (pen-and-paper variant), RTS games, physics, mathematics, philosophy and various researching projects.

My DeviantArt page is listed as the Homepage, in case anyone is interested in my art. I make both traditional and digital art, preferring acrylics over oils because of drying time but embrace the entire spectra of tools without excluding anything. Somewhere in the afore mentioned gallery I have a self portrait of me (unnamed).

So this is my "hi" ! :)

Welcome Zardan! You'll find artists of every stripe here, from writers, painters, graphic illustrators, sculptors and filmmakers to at least three professional tattooists.

I always preferred oil over acrylic for the same reason as you - drying time - the slow dry of oil gave me plenty of time as an obsessive perfectionist to go back and tweak every detail. But my primary obsession was/is comic book art, so I'm more involved in INK work. That's the thing I like most about tattooing - I can obsess over every detail until I'm satisfied its as perfect as I can make it, BEFORE the stencil ever goes on the skin. Of course, after that, you're on your own. You either follow the pattern PERFECTLY, or you learn little tricks for covering up mistakes.

SPELLCHECK TWICE - ink once. :D

Enjoy your new home!

That's very interesting! :) I am more of a speed painter myself but can be obsessed with certain elements in a painting (such as a face or a facial feature) needing to get back over and over again on such an element.

I love comics. I love ink. I began my painting and drawing career from early 80s Marvel comics. I am fond over tattoos as well and has considered picking it up as a career from time to time (but I never did).
