So yeah. Hi. My name's Savannah ;]

I'm pretty used to forums, seeing as I've been on them since I was eleven or so, making my own Invisionfree ones [which, by the way, aren't as good as Proboards, but they look cooler when you post in them :D]. I suppose I should say a little bit about myself? [And why do I feel like I'm in an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting? .__.]

Hmm. Like I said, my name's Savannah. I'm turning seventeen in exactly a week. Uhm...I have Asperger's, diagnosed. Didn't really think much of it until 4th or 5th grade when my temper issues flared up and I started noticing I wasn't exactly a social butterfly. I've been aware of it all this time but I've never looked for any autism boards until now, when I was looking up some stuff about Asperger's for a fanfiction where the main character has Asperger's and wanted to learn more about my disorder...followed a link here...tada :D

What else. I'm one of those "scene" chicks you see on Myspace with the weird angles and hair and eyeliner and stuff. And don't give me the whole "categorizing yourself makes you a poser". It's just the way my brain works, okay >__> You guys of all people should be able to understand that. I like putting people in categories like jock and prep and scene and emo. It makes me feel...I don't know...part of something bigger? I guess? [Wow, I fail at explaining.]

I've been asocial for a while but recently I moved to Florida and I started opening up for no particular reason. Just being myself and letting my natural outgoing, extrovert personality take over [who knows where that even came from] and now I'm pretty much the exact opposite of what I was when I was little. I love meeting new people, socializing, going out and doing stuff, etc. Though from time to time I do still have the imaginary friend-thing going on, but usually it's celebrities and such xD No idea why but it's fun to imagine them there with me ;] And two in particular who you can probably guess from looking at my avatar *wink wink*

I love music. It's everything to me. I sing [above average, apparently]. I play guitar [which I taught myself]. I play limited piano [which pretty much means I can play around on it and figure out the fingering for a song after only hearing it once, which my mom likes to brag about, but I take a while to play double-handed, so I mostly stick to one hand with chords and the other with notes]. I really want to start playing at cafés and such but who knows when that will happen xD

I'm studying to be a German/Russian/English interpreter. English as my A [native] language, German and Russian as my B [secondary] languages, and French and Italian as my C [kinda-sorta] languages. I already know some French from school so that's off to a good start, and I'm teaching myself German from LiveMocha and German songs I listen to. I really really would love to be fluent in German and Russian :3

I really ought to stop this post now, these things tend to get way too long when I'm writing in them. So if you want to know anything else, just message me or whatever you do on this forum xD

EDIT: I'm an emu egg .___.

I have a strange feeling you are almost the complete opposite of me. Haha. I got to dare post too today, but in the wrong place and got told off. Oops.

Here seems like a good place to do the whole self enlightenment whilst in a group presence thing, if such thing is possible. By the sounds of it, limited piano is only limited by time spent listening to individual songs. Har, impressive.

Sounds like fun. Welcome.

lolwut.

You guys all use big words. I can use them, but I prefer not to because I'm so used to having to "dumb it down" for people around me. "What does illegitimate mean? What does succumbed mean? Why are you speaking French in the middle of an English conversation?" Such stupid questions >___>

What am I even talking about.
I should leave right now, honestly.

Thank you for the welcome, though ;]
Dankeschön für die Wilkommen ;]
That's probably wrong but I don't feel like checking. I'm lazy today.

It's not ANTISOCIAL it is ASOCIAL. If you were ANTISOCIAL you would be hostile, breaking the law, etc.

Welcome to the forum.

Just one thing. Look at the bottom of your page. "Asperger's is not a disease." Don't call it as such.

Aaaaand someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Sorry for not knowing the description of every word in the entire world.

.________.

I feel really stupid now because as I was typing I thought I typed 'disorder'. I was sure I typed disorder. Because that's what I usually call it. I was reminding myself in my head that it wasn't a disease, because one of my friends asked if it would be called a disease or a disorder. And I was all, "Disorder, because diseases are, like, sick stuff and Asperger's is a mental state."

But I guess my brain decided not to work >___>

*changed*

Thank you :]

I meant you were playing down your musical talent by saying "limited" whilst you said you were actually capable of picking up a song by merely hearing it. Thus, you can learn songs as fast as you can listen to them, so to speak.

Sorry.

It's definition, not description. And you are silly for using that metaphor, people need to be corrected otherwise you would go around still calling yourself antisocial and more people would make the same error.

@MrFish: Aha. Sorry, my brain is just not working today. I'm running on an hour and a half of sleep thanks to the much-hated insomnia I've started to develop recently and...yeah >__>

@buryuntime: I feel like you're trying to...act like you're smarter than me? Belittle me? I guess? I'm sorry if I mess up some "obvious" stuff. You were right on both terms but I don't know, it just felt like since I don't use big words and I'm not as smart as you then you're trying to--eh, never mind. I'm sick of this fight, it's happened several times :/ Back in the "you're a ret*d" times, you know? Not reacting properly to social cues and so on. [Gah, now I sound like a pity party.]

It's the spread of correct information not the spread of being egotistical.

No worries. I get oversleep-headaches alot. It's the other end of sleeping too much. They're dead fun. It's fine, I have a tendancy to get too wordy, or possibly dig too deep into a metaphore that reading it back, I have no idea what I put.

I talk a lot xD Like crazy. It's insane. People have to tell me to shut up.

And I get sick a lot :/ Well, what happens is I go a long, long time without being sick, then when I do get sick, it lasts for like ever. And it's always the worst kind of sicknesses, too. Like, right now I'm sick and I have that feeling where you feel like you're going to technicolor yawn...but you also know you're not going to? Yeah, that xD Probably not related in any way, shape, or form to my Asperger's but hey, this is a 'get to know me' thread xD

Technicolour yawn, now that's something I'd never have even remotely thought of. Still, made me giggle. Glad you know how to talk to people, haha I can only talk about things I know face to face. Other than that I just sort of go..err. It's really inconvenient. On the internets it's a bit easier. Swap.

Savannah Kay, Hi! I hope you have a good time here. I hope you stay on. Your translating career should be fascinating to follow.

G'day Savannah. An extroverted aspie, eh? Most intriguing indeed.
I'm definitely outspoken with friends, family, and the right situations. I've never made friends too easily though.
