My name is Jake Gavranovic and I currently live in Dublin, Ireland but I was born in Croatia. I've been recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Mental Disorders run through our genes but I doubt if autism is connected with it  One of my distant uncle is currently in a psychiatric institution to treat his schizophrenia because he killed a Czech tourist(According to my mum, he has been referred as "axe killer" during 1997). My dad was shot when I was a kid because a cop thought he's trying to harm a baby. He was schizophrenic too.

I love playing the piano and actually, i can play it using my feet :D. I love science, reading and my girlfriend. Feel free to message me on MSN. My e-add is on my profile!

Hello Jake, welcome,

I visited Dublin once; I think it's a nice place.

Enjoy your stay on the Wrong Planet!

Hello! I am hypermobile too! I dislocated both my elbows when I was a kid... Ouch...

Just joined there now after stalking for a bit, and what do I find?
A warm friendly welcome from not just one, but two fellow bendy people!

Hurrah :-)
So totally in the right place. *sigh*

I, too, am hypermobile, but in a 'Ow' way, which used to be called HMS, but for some reason has a new, trendy name of EDS: just awash with initials, me.

I am told I 'probably' have AS by endless non-specialists, and just waiting for the machinery of the NHS to get this confirmed, or not. I'm only seeking a dx now (at 35) as I have a 3 year old daughter who is a mini-me in every way, and I think some of her behaviours, one that drove my own parents to lifelong intolerance of me, are AS-like. I don't want her assessed just yet, as I hope we can just be supportive enough to allow her to be herself, rather than force her in to any box. I figured if I finally got a dx, then we would have access to more support which I could use for her. I'm pretty happy being my own aloof obsessive social misfit now, but childhood and adolescence was very rough, and I don't want to put her through that, if she stays being the carbon copy of me she currently is.

I've done a few of the on-line tests posted on WP in the last few days, and given myself the willies - just done the Baron Cohen eye test (and then forced my husband to do it too) and I got a paltry 15, and I thought I'd be quite good at that. Boo. The Boy got 30 and giggled.

Rambling now.

Oh yes, that's the other thing. ... I talk too much.

Hellooo All, nice to meet you. :-)
